Once again, Obama impresses with his vast medical knowledge

During his egocentric Cuban Relations speech today, the great medical sage Obama stated "it was a Cuban who found the cure for Malaria".
By cure, one can only presume Obama would be referring to discovery of anopheles mosquitoes as a transmission vector, and that by eliminating them, malaria could be eradicated.
Major Ronald Ross, a British officer, was the first to demonstrate this. Suffice it to say he was not Cuban.
For his discovery, Ross was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1902.
BTW Mr.President, regarding his Nobel Award, Ross actually did that. Ross earned it. Unlike certain other Nobel recipients, someone else did not do it for him.

To be fair its really really hard to find positive things to say about Cuba... "The Cubans make the best cigars, a good cup of cofee, and uh... and uh.... Thank you"

Jon Stewart and John Oliver will not mention this

FWIW, Obama and his teleprompter were likely referring to work on Yellow Fever, not malaria. Just sick of his arrogant BS, especially with medicine.

I appreciate Obama taking time off from his studies on climate change to impart a little knowledge to the rest of us on medical developments.
You shouldn't be so harsh.

McCullough's "The Path Between the Seas" is an outstanding account of Panama Canal construction. McCullough spends plenty of time discussing eradication of yellow fever and malaria in the canal zone. Great read btw.

For some reason, I'm reminded of the "Seinfeld" episode where Kramer is giving the buggy tours and just pulling made-up "facts" out of his arse.
"This is Central Park, folks...it was designed and built in 1851 by Joe Pepitone. During the Civil War, the Union Army practiced fighting here."

One thing I'd like to see Obama do is get rid of trade restrictions on sugar imports. The US is paying a butt load more for sugar grown in the US because we can't import cheap sugar from Central America.
