Just one point of clarification (for the X post).
Citizens are not required to carry "immigration documents".
Yes which is why I admit that there is some racial profiling going on.
If you are Hispanic and working on a job site full of illegal Hispanics, should it really shock you that ICE will detain you longer to verify you are a US citizen?

A citizen had a Real ID and it led to problems

But how the hell is a person who was born here going to have immigration documents?
That's why they were detained while ICE verified their info

I have a TWIC card and still had to get a Real ID to fly.
That's interesting. I always thought a TWIC card was a sufficient substitute.

Cooperate with law enforcement. Bet that person didn’t get sent away after it was verified they were a citizen.

I don't know if some new legislation happened but I thought a TWIC was basically second only to a passport, effectively.
I thought a TWIC could be used as a TSA Precheck, even

A U.S. citizen should be able to walk down the street with no fear that a government
agent is going to stop and detain him (for even 10 minutes)just because of his ethnicity…

Prove you're a citizen

They aren’t deporting the citizens…no rights are being withheld. They are being detained while their citizenship is verified. If you work in a place with high levels of illegal immigrants and you are Hispanic there is a likelihood that you can be detained while your status is being verified. The OP is stating that a Real ID won’t verify citizenship. Probably worth it to carry a birth certificate if you don’t want the hassle.

American citizens are detained every day in traffic stops you smooth brain

I bet that isn't made more difficult if the citizen speaks another language primarily.

How many traffic stops are based solely on ethnicity, scholar?

It's really not though. One is the forcing of citizens to conform to what the government is telling you, the other is to PROTECT the identities of Federal Agents because of deranged and outright calls to harm both them and their families all because they are carrying out the duties as officers.
You genuinely impress me more and more every day with your way of thinking. I am constantly surprised by your surface level thinking every day, in a new way.

We know you love the process and paperwork Don Quixote. You remind of the overweight, middle aged, white, in denial gay man at the college admissions office autistically reminding everyone about their FAFSA forms at Tennessee. Ironically, that’s exactly how I picture you, an overweight, middle aged, in denial gay man.

I admit I didn't fully read the article Tangerine posted about the Somali so I'm not sure if he was just walking down the street but I gave actual examples of two Hispanic people detained along with other Hispanics while working.
They weren't just walking down the street and asked to show their papers.
Why are you so hyperbolic and never argue the actual examples given?

how much do you care that a few people get racially profiled and inconvenienced for a few hours
The answer is, most of us don't care at all.
Can we at least admit that ICE Barbie is lying through her teeth?

If I am detained in order to verify my citizenship then that would be inconvenient for me. But given the threat to my country I would consider it my patriotic duty.
Imagine for a moment if you or any person’s guns were confiscated until it could be proven without a doubt that all of the firearms were purchased legally and all background checks and paperwork were in order.
Once all of that was verified, people could go down to the police station and pick up rhe guns. It’s it would be messy and mistakes will be made. But it would just be an inconvenience.
Given the grave threat to the country that some people with guns are, would this be a patriotic duty?
