This is my opinion. Covid was the distraction in Trump's first term. At the moment, it seems like they're trying to build Russia into the second term distraction.
I have a feeling there will be a lot of swamp pulling shenanigans to continue Ukrainian funding, even to the point where they're funneling money under the table. Trump is going to have to play whack a mole.
His cabinet picks are giving me hope though. They're qualified, non-traditional appointments (what Americans voted for), and pissing off the right people.

I think it’s a last gasp attempt to keep the money rolling before he’s out of office, by backing the Russians off with increased offense.

If Ukraine is in a more hot war with US missiles it will make it harder for Trump to cut off the funding.

The more I think about why he is doing it, the more I firmly believe it’s to get Russia to respond so forcefully on Ukraine that when Russia is done, Ukraine is just a huge pile of rubble. My reasoning for this is…..because Ukraine is where the democrats have been hiding all of their secrets and they want to cover them up before Trump can get his hands on them.
