Socialism, fails every time it’s tried.

From the 1st Century, 2 THESSALONIANS 3:10, In fact, when we were with you, this is what we commanded you: “If anyone isn’t willing to work, he should not eat.” to Venezuela in the 21st Century, people keep believing in the utopian fantasy.

Run Bernie, Run.

This is a good example of "brown socialism" exponentially less functional than the white socialism you would have seen in Eastern Europe or the Soviet Union States.

Another socialist success story.

Hard to believe how many Hollywood idiots point to Venezuela as a template for how to run a country.

I am not one for another foreign intervention.....however, I wonder if we couldn't get the CIA to dust off the old Latin America playbook and engineer a coup against these bastards.

Reagan said it best:

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it"

If we should be instituting any regime changes they might as well be in our backyard. Venezuela should be a fricking paradise, it’s just incredible how much certain people can actually frick something up.

The current dictator Maduro is a former bus driver.

About as qualified as a community organizer is to lead a country!

Let's change this title to:

Hydrocarbon Rich Venezuela is out of Gasoline

Which might get a few people to realize that all gasolines are hydrocarbons, but not all hydrocarbons are gasoline.

And therein the Venezuela ignorance thrives.

As a citgo employee, reading about Venezuela's downfall is very unsettling.

Are you saying Venezuela’s heavy crude cannot be refined into gasoline?

What are you saying?

Speaking at a World Economic Forum, Stiglitz said: “Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez appears to have had success in bringing health and education to the people in the poor neighbourhoods of Caracas.”

“It is not only important to have sustainable growth, but to ensure the best distribution of economic growth, for the benefit of all citizens.”

In the run-up to last year’s presidential election, Stiglitz served as an advisor to Hillary Clinton’s unsuccessful campaign on economic and trade issues.

Economist Joseph Stiglitz
quote:

"Hugo fed the hungry. He lifted the poor. He raised their hopes. He helped them realize their dreams. And, so, today we do mourn, because we’ve lost a lot. But we have a lot left – a stable government, an orderly transition,” he said.

Jesse Jackson
quote:

"I’ve been here for 24 hours and I’m amazed to see the love and encouragement for the social programs that you have here for women and children in Venezuela,” Campbell said at the time.

In the interview, which has since been taken down, Campbell called Chávez a “rebel angel,” who was “fearless, but not threatening or unreasonable.”
