It isn’t unconstitutional. Good Lord

Apply the anti dumping laws the same as was done with steel. This is the same damn thing

Watch oil drop to $10 a barrel when we cut off most foreign oil in this way. Russians and SA can suck it in that situation

Just have to make sure we can import heavy oil from Venezuela for product mix purposes

Uh. Wrong. There ar many states that rely on energy production, not just LA. The loss of jobs will have a huge impact on the US economy. It’s killing my business.

Just wait. The actual minute they announce a vaccine oil will explode to over $100 barrel.

Haha. They're running out of space to put it. Lots of US oil companies are going to go belly up and all the other businesses that support it.

Looks like $12-13 a barrel is coming then possibly negative... charge to store.

A vaccine might never come, btw.

Define US oil product

Entirely made/extracted in the US?

Since we're talking hypothetically, it can be anything we want. Could be extracted, refined, and distributed for all I care. But it's definitely not unconstitutional.

Going back to the Jones Act, those same vessels that transport products between 2 US ports must also be made in the USA...it's actually a national security concern. The other thing it does is obviously protect that industry from foreign competition. It can be done...I'm not saying it should be, but there is certainly legal precedence to do so.

There is a simple solution to this. Uncap our oil wells, Strat refinery back at full operation and only allow the sell of oil based products in the US that came from Oil in the US. Stabilize our gas prices and then tell them to frick off and let them fight it out.

Tariff the frick out of oil unless it’s owned by a US held company and produced elsewhere.
