Then you proceed to write a paragraph of their words. Words aren't actions.

Again, what? The fact that they do not have the ability to project power outside their region is not evidence itself? They've admitted as much with several statements and it is reinforced by the deployment pattern, where they have only two ships, two destroyers in the Indo-Pacific. I'm confused as to where you see a difference between words and actions here.

I know, I know. And two or three centuries ago, the suggestion that they would align with the US was idiotic too. But nevertheless, it happened.

I mean, no not really. I already explained the circumstances around that. And it should be noted that as soon as both countries secured their immediate regions, they agreed to work together internationally, as the US wasn't really interested in continental affairs until the turn of the 20th and the British were always more occupied with their colonial holdings, namely India, as well as various continental interests.

Okay now I understand. The real version of the future is the one you've made up in your head. I understand that you're quite convinced that you have the future figured out. I'm quite convinced that you do not.

Can you actually read? It appears you cannot. I can see why you think my words are nonsense. It's just above your reading level. Run along little dude.

What's the deal with things like calling someone "Bud". Is this an internet affectation, or slang from the neighborhood. Does it confer a sense of superiority? Just wondering.

Damn what a gay fricking question.

President Trump is not just blockading Iran's oil exports ... he is blocking China's imports.

This was not specifically stated in his announcement, but the real goal in blocking all Iranian oil is to force China to engage with Iran on a resolution.

China was Iran's primary lifeline for the past few years. Only China can apply the needed pressure to get Iranian leaders to give up their enriched uranium.

US mass media's cheerleading for the IRGC and the ridicule of Trump's Administration is growing.

Seems like a large segment of our country wants the USA to lose this war.

Crazy times.

If I had to guess, we just witnessed Phase 1.

Assassinations and systematic disassembly of their ability to project power around the region.

Once we compromised their ability to coordinate and fight, we offered them the opportunity to surrender.

As was overwhelmingly likely to be the case, they refused.

Phase 2 will be the upending of their economy. And the easiest way to do that remains Kharg Island.

Sure, they don't pump the oil there. But Iran's domestic demand for oil is in the toilet. They have no use for all of the oil they produce. They need the oil-to-currency pipeline that the Island produces.

After we seize it, they'll be given another opportunity to surrender.

I project that there's a moderate-to-high probability they accept THAT proposal.

The IRGC won't have any damn money if they don't. They need the ability to export oil.

Of course, we will be turning that into a joint venture... as we did with Venezuela.

I believe Trump's insistence that they've "had regime change" is his saying that he believes they'll make the deal once the incentives fully align.

If they don't?

Well. Phase 3 has already been foretold.

"Power Plant Day and Bridge Day all rolled up into one"

quote:

It ultimately doesn't matter if Iran is a stable country after Israel and Saudi join forces to police the region.

Ideally, sure, we'd prefer they are. It's less headache.

But we have the ibuprofen in the medicine cabinet if we ultimately have to take this all the way.

Probably some of them just want us to bow out without a clearcut victory, in hopes that will give Trump a black eye. That's still crazy though, or more accurately, dumb.

As with many things Trump has done, like enforce the border laws and impose tariffs in an attempt to balance our trade, they don't recognize that this is an emergency situation with national security implications. So they default to their media brainwashing and oppose Trump's attempts to prevent a future disaster. The consensus of weak minds can destroy a country just as thoroughly as a dedicated enemy.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces will begin implementing a blockade of all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports on April 13 at 10 a.m. ET, in accordance with the President’s proclamation.
The blockade will be enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. CENTCOM forces will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports.
Additional information will be provided to commercial mariners through a formal notice prior to the start of the blockade. All mariners are advised to monitor Notice to Mariners broadcasts and contact U.S. naval forces on bridge-to-bridge channel 16 when operating in the Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz approaches.
