First, suggesting that they 'lost' some mines could lay the groundwork for plausible deniability for future attacks against specifically GCC shipping. The second is that they want to outsource the cost of removing the mines to other parties, which is in effect the same as losing track of the mines.

This is my thought along with allowing them to shut the strait down but for a reason other than they are threatening openly.

The fear of the strait being mined could also signal to the GCC that their economic fortunes are tied directly to Iran's fortunes. And given that the IRGC released a route through the strait which coincidentally marked the passage through Omani waters as 'mined,' I think the situation is more 'we don't know where the mines we laid are, thus you have to follow these routes we want you to follow.'

I'm a big fan of starship troopers. So the giddy cute girl is familiar.

I'm doing my part!

What keeps the mines from drifting into the passageway they marked if they don’t know where they are.

Would not surprise me if there are no mines.

Anchored and moored mines mostly.

My view is that this sounds like gangsterism that Shia Militias in Iraq and Syria employed for a long time, just on a larger scale. Which in effect is an accurate description of the Iranian state as a Shia entity.

JD Vance just lifted off from Joint Base Andrews on Air Force Two… headed straight into one of the most volatile regions on earth.

Islamabad is locked down.
Armored Suburbans, ECM jamming vehicles, full protective detail already staged.
Thousands of Pakistani troops securing the ground.

This isn’t optics… this is what real American power looks like when it moves.

He’s walking into high-threat territory to help lock in a ceasefire between Iran, Israel, and U.S. interests… with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner alongside him.

People throwing around “500 soldiers” don’t understand what they’re looking at.
That’s not an invasion force… that’s the layered security footprint required to protect U.S. leadership in a hostile environment.

Every vehicle…
Every route…
Every second…

Controlled.

This is projection of power, precision, and presence.

America doesn’t ask permission…
It shows up… fully secured… and sets the terms.

is this something that AI slop has tuned in on to get people to engage with it?

This pause for negotiations accomplishes a couple things:
1. The pause resets the 60-day war powers clock.
2. This allows all the airframes being used in this campaign to get vital maintenance & refit, & crew rest.
3. We are rebuilding the target list & intelligence mosaic right now listening to Iranian communications, tracking individuals, watching movements on the ground, re-evaluating targets hit for needed follow up, cataloguing new targets. This pause & internal fracture in the regime told us who’s alive & is a target.
4. We’re pouring weapons restocks & reloads into the region.
5. The straight still being closed is forcing countries to buy American oil. At market value, not discounted prices, in dollars. Bad news for China.

This pause benefits us more than it does the Iranian regime. I expect these negotiations to go one for some time, even though its obvious the Regime isn’t here to seriously negotiate. This is just buying time for us to set the table for round two.

There's no way Iran is dumb enough to lose mines and i would hope the US isn't dumb enough to believe this. There seems to be a pattern of Iran delaying negotiations. If this report is accurate, they are making us look like fools and surely the guys handling this realize this. I mean i see it and I'm just some guy. Long story short its got to be BS

Yeah it’s likely bullshite. No one lays mines without marking it on a map unless you’re absolutely retarded (well…)

We likely have a good enough read on where mines are laid and can work on them with our LCS and they can finally do what they were designed to do.

First, it’s most likely they are lying. Second, it’s also plausible they just laid mines and did not track the approximate drop points of the mines.
