These airfields need to be destroyed to keep this from happening.

I'm actually shocked they have any working ones left, I figured they would have all been cratered up by now. If/when the action starts up again, those need to be taken out.

Amazing.

This is why they agreed to that fake ceasefire. The resupply, rearm and continue this nonsense.

We should have just eviscerated their bridges, plants, etc...

NEW: Israel has agreed to direct talks with Lebanon that will focus on disarming Hezbollah, and establishing "peaceful relations" between the two countries.

Absolutely enormous news! Who would have ever in a million years thought that Israel and Lebanon would establish peaceful relations with Hezbollah behind the scenes.

That's kind of been the whole debate over the past decade or more, bud. Israel and the Lebanese government have talked many times about them at least trying to exert some control over Hezbollah. That government has either been unable or unwilling to do so to this point.

This is how they found the pilot...

Your heart generates an electromagnetic field every time it beats. About 50 picoTesla at the chest surface. That's one billionth the strength of a refrigerator magnet. In a hospital, an MRI picks this up from inches away using a superconducting sensor cooled to near absolute zero.

Ghost Murmur reportedly does it from 40 miles, at ambient temperature, from a helicopter.

The key is nitrogen-vacancy centers in synthetic diamonds. Tiny atomic defects where a nitrogen atom sits next to a missing carbon atom in the diamond lattice. These defects are sensitive to magnetic fields at room temperature. In published research, NV diamond sensors have detected magnetic signals from single neurons. The problem has always been range. Labs measure in millimeters.

What Skunk Works apparently solved is the signal-to-noise problem at continental scale. The southern Iranian desert gave them ideal conditions: almost zero electromagnetic interference, no competing human signatures, thermal contrast between a warm body and cold rock at night. The AI doesn't just filter noise. It cross-references seismic, thermal, and electromagnetic data to confirm one heartbeat in a thousand square miles.

The airman had a survival beacon. He had to expose himself briefly to activate it. That moment may have been enough for the system to lock on. Once it had his cardiac signature, it could track him through solid rock.

Published science says this shouldn't work at these distances. Classified science doesn't publish.

Seems like a lot of sci-fi hullabaloo to conceal the actual method of finding their guy which is likely just HUMINT with CIA/SOF assets on the ground.

ETA: Tom Clancy was on the government’s shite list just from referencing Prairie Masker and parts of the F-117 project in Red Storm Rising and that at the time was nowhere near as crazy as this story. It wouldn’t become open knowledge if that was a real method of finding someone.

Good. That makes the Lebanese government culpable and complicit.

If MS-13 gangs started lobbing missiles into Mexico - the US wouldn't say "well that's not us doing it!"

The Cardboard Khamenei did not appear to deliver his message (shocking) but instead a statement was read out attributed to him.

Pretty delusional for a dead, gay and cardboard ayatollah.
