Looks like the air is let out of this thread. Time to move on?

It will resume pending the outcome of the next 48 - 72 hours. In the meantime, go do your chores

Iran's large scale capabilities have been neutered but the issue remains that they can cause significant chaos by threatening the strait. Drone warfare has changed the game for asymmetrical combat.

where are they going to build said drones? In their garage? It's becoming abundantly clear their production means are neutered.

once Iran breaks the ceasefire again, it will pickup as we have been using the ceasefire to restock for the massive push to end this one and for all. We are so far ahead of schedule that we have time to reassess.

And just think... if WE are tired then how do you think the Iranian guard feels

Unironically, yes. It doesn't take a ton of money or resources to rig something that can wreak havoc. It's why a ground operation would be brutal for us. The NYT had an article today on how it's happening in Ukraine, Russia, and the ME:

LINK

quote:

The team, now working as two new companies called Odd Systems and The Fourth Law, integrated an artificial-intelligence-powered image-recognition system into the drone. Instead of identifying, say, a dog or a cat, it can be asked to spot military vehicles, artillery pieces or enemy soldiers.

The image-recognition system is meshed with an autopilot program that is used to attack. Pilots who fly Odd Systems drones use a targeting approach called YOLO, or “you only look once.” After operators see a target, they engage an automated system, and the drone flies the final 400 or so yards autonomously, making it impervious to Russian jamming.

quote:

Odd Systems also produces a drone interceptor made to counter Iranian-designed Shahed drones. Russia has been firing these cheap, triangular exploding drones at Ukraine for years, and Iran has used them in recent weeks to attack U.S. bases, American embassies and other targets in the Middle East. The company’s interceptor, Zerov, is a fast, rocket-shaped craft with four propellers that is programmed to identify Shaheds, fly toward them and explode.

Container (green) and tanker (red) vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz via
@MarineTraffic
since the announcement of the ceasefire shows that the few vessel transits that have occurred continued to deviate out of the main channel around the north side of Larak Island for inspection by Iran.

Can't really say it was ever really "re-opened" to begin with.

This can't be true, several on here have laughed at even the thought of Iran placing mines

Fars News: The Islamic regime says any new negotiations depend on a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Tehran demands its 10 point plan be accepted,
including Lebanon as part of a full ceasefire. Without this, talks are meaningless.

Iranian officials claim the position is unified and Iran is prepared to use multiple options to enforce it.

That technology is amazing. It really gave Ukraine the upper hand on this fight.

Mehdi Mohammadi, advisor to the Speaker of the Parliament, says:

"Only a few hours remain. Without fully restraining America's rabid dog in Lebanon, there will be no ceasefire or negotiations, and the missiles are ready to fly. The equation is that the fate of the components of the Resistance Axis as part of the new regional order after Iran's victory must be established; if it happens, it will be with kind words, otherwise with war."
