Like many of you, I tuned into Trump's prime-time address last night expecting either major escalation or a surprise breakthrough announcement.
Neither happened.
What unfolded was more calculated.

Pressure and Off-Ramp works like this: You make the worst-case scenario feel immediate and painful. The other side feels the heat, and then you hand them a clear, dignified way out before they double down.
Trump did exactly that on national television. Maximum credible threat, followed immediately by the exit door.
Iran's response? They denied ever asking for a ceasefire. Meanwhile, the Tehran Toll Booth we've been tracking for weeks on the 'stack just went mainstream.
CNBC, Bloomberg, Insurance Journal were all covering the Larak Island story today.
$1+ per barrel in yuan and stable coins. Iran's parliamentary committee formally approved the framework. It's now official infrastructure.
If you've been following our series on the 'stack, you saw this coming before the big outlets did.
Iran didn't build a desperate blockade. Rather, they built a revenue stream and a sovereignty play over a literal global chokepoint.

They won't celebrate it. They won't go full condemnation. Expect something measured about "respecting international institutions."
