The point is it is fair to criticize the President running his mouth when he shouldn't and saying outlandish shite that is a half truth at best.

I don't know what the endgame is in Iran, but it sure seems to be turning into a long term engagement.

I can't speak for everybody, so I'll speak for myself. Trump's bombastic rhetoric is growing tiresome and doesn't appear to strengthen our position.

My dislike of these left wing "talking points" is that they're spreading pro-Iranian propaganda, and have been doing so since day one. In their ardor to discredit Trump, they've actually tried to undermine the US war effort with propaganda. Some even admit the extent of their TDS in this context, like Tom Friedman of the NY Times who said he couldn't root for US success against Iran because it would help Trump. The fact that he's still employed is quite revealing.

In various places I've read things like this (just a few of many examples), not just in this thread or other social media, but sometimes in the mainstream US media:

If Trump hadn't dropped out of the JCPOA, this wouldn't have happened - false, because of severe site limitations the inspectors had no ability to verify that Iran was cooperating. Everything just moved to different sites.

Iran didnt have highly enriched uranium - false

Not enough to make a bomb - false, they had enough for almost a dozen. They had rapidly increased their rate of production in 2023 and 2024.

They weren't close to being able to make a bomb - very likely false, once the fissile material is available, a bomb can be made in a few weeks. China did it 60 years ago and they are Iran's ally.

My favorite: Trump lied about "obliterating" Iran's nuclear capacity: True. He did lie because now we know that they started planning for a more comprehensive attack on Iran's nuclear capacity (and IRCG/militia) almost immediately after "Midnight Hammer". The planning and coordination with Israel for the next phase continued for months prior to starting the January deployment. Meanwhile, during that entire period Trump continued telling that same lie repeatedly, right up until two weeks before Epic Fury (“… achieving total obliteration of the Iran nuclear potential capability — totally obliterated.”, February 13, 2026). CNN even did an entire article documenting how many times he said it leading up to Epic Fury, and then questioned why he lied. Obviously, it was intentional disinformation. We blunted their immediately nuclear capability and then planned and deployed for phase II.

Iran didn't start this war - false, as I posted recently and has been documented countless times in global media, Iran and their foreign militia have been conducting an undeclared war for decades. And with help from China, they've been preparing to impede and then control the flow of Persian Gulf oil for the entire time. Their goal was to make any attempt to stop their militant ambitions prohibitively risky, via threat to energy flows (Gulf, Red Sea, pipelines, refineries) and ultimately nuclear capacity. With active help from China (why, oh why would they do that?), and considering Europe and the UK's passive stance, they may have succeeded.

The US has no national interest here, only entered this war because of Israel - false, and so absurdly ignorant in light of what China/Iran have been doing, in the middle east, South America and elsewhere, that our "news media" should have destroyed this talking point immediately. But they didn't and that's very concerning.

I believe it was one of these systems that shot down an F-15
