It's why Vance argued against it. There isn't, and won't be, an off ramp. Trump is doing about the only thing he can now; blockade, targeted strikes, develop alternatives.
Huge mistake but we're in it now.

The U.S. electronic warfare aircraft is on its way to the Middle East: The advanced U.S. Air Force electronic warfare aircraft, the EA-37B Compass Call, has arrived at RAF Mildenhall base in the UK, en route to the Middle East. Its deployment is expected to significantly enhance electronic warfare capabilities in the region, including disrupting enemy communications and detection/warning systems, and targeting the opponent's command and control systems. The last time the aircraft was in the region was in April, during Operation Epic Fury. They left the region in June, shortly after the signing of the memorandum of understanding, and now they are returning

Qatar condemned an attack by Tehran-backed Houthis on a Saudi vessel in the Red Sea, calling it a serious violation of maritime safety and international law and a threat to energy security.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry said the attack marked a dangerous escalation that could destabilize the region and undermine efforts to strengthen security.
Doha urged the international community to enforce UN Security Council resolutions on Yemen and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. It also expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and backed measures to protect its security and interests, while praising Oman’s mediation efforts to revive Yemen’s stalled political process.

IRAN REPORTEDLY FLEW IRGC COMMANDERS, MISSILE & DRONE EQUIPMENT TO YEMEN’S HOUTHIS
Iran reportedly flew 10–21 IRGC personnel, including senior commanders, along with missile- and drone-related equipment into Yemen on July 13, Reuters reports.
The Mahan Air flight diverted from Sanaa to Hodeidah after the airport came under attack. Iran also reportedly sent gold to fund Houthi activities.
“The IRGC commanders traveled there to support Houthi operations and provide training on new missile systems,” a source told Reuters.
The deployment could strengthen Houthi capabilities to threaten Red Sea shipping and launch attacks against Israel and Gulf states.
