There is a lot of really good history to see in the middle east. Islam has destroyed a lot of it sadly, but thankfully a lot of it still stands. I'd like to tour some of the ancient sites of ancient Mesopotamia one day.

Uncle said it was a great place during the Shah's time. He brought me back a big box of red pitascios, filled up my center console of my new SS454 with them and had a blue Icelandic sheep wool hide in the back seat. I was cool for about 4 months. Downhill from there.

Ur, Sumer and the Sumerian's fascinates me. One of the first large civilizations of early humanity. Also one of the early examples of taking something made of good quality and mass producing it, but reducing the quality of the product while increasing the quantity, with the introduction of the fast wheel vs the slow wheel production of pottery.

U.S. forces struck Iranian military targets including maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense assets. The strikes further degrade Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels.
This month, American forces have targeted dozens of Iranian military sites on land while resuming a blockade against Iran at sea. As of today, CENTCOM has redirected nine commercial vessels and disabled one to prevent ships from entering or departing Iranian ports.
More than 50,000 U.S. service members are operating across the Middle East and remain highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready.

If we are just gonna sit here and tit for tat them while making hyperbolic threats, our economy is going to go in the gutter.
If we put troops on the ground our economy is gonna go in the gutter and we are going to lose people to another unnecessary conflict.
If we capitulate to the strait of Hormuz being Iranian controlled then Trump has a permanent blunder on his record that defines his entire career and he won’t be able to wash away.
There really seems to be no way out of this. I’m assuming that why the US keeps kicking the can down the road.
