The most underrated fighter the GOP has...

Rove: Walker has a 4 or 5 to 1 advantage in advantageous precincts still outstanding

Looks like LA gets fantasy football.

Posted on 11/6/18 at 11:53 pm to blueboy
Does that mean they will also get a fantasy fan following?

Apparently there are some absentee votes coming along against him, though. It's gonna be VERY close.

I'm at work and haven't been able to keep up, but I saw the Dems won the House. Was not excited to see this.
Can I get some Cliff notes? Are we fawked baws? Lame Duck government for the next 2 years?

Dems gain about 30 seats in House to flip control... about what was expected
GOP will actually gain seats in the Senate and have a bigger control while is a tiny bit surprising
Dems definitely did worse in Gubernatorial races than expected... flipping about 5 when there was talk of turning 10
all in all... a mixed bag where both sides had positives and negatives
deadlock in Congress confirmed for at least 2 years

Thanks for the Cliffs. Sucks about a deadlocked Congress
Wasn't as concerned with the Governor races as they don't affect the federal aspect of government as much. If one is wanting to read into that it may bode well for a Trump re-election in 2020....or it may not. If the Rep Governors piss off the voting base in the meantime it could spell bad news for Trump.
One thing is for sure...the Dems in the House will have the government at a standstill, hoping to blame Trump and a pissed off American voter in 2020 that will flip the power for them.

Meh.
Our system was designed just for this situation.

I made a mistake somewhere tonight where I said two districts in Kansas went blue. Turns out Watkins came back and narrowly (approximately 4,000 votes) beat Davis in the 2nd District so only one district went blue.

Don't underestimate the power of the governors when it comes to redistricting after the census in 2020. That was huge for the GOP to take Florida and Ohio.
Governors also have built in political operations within the state which are real important in presidential campaigns.
The Democrats don't have a lot to crow about.

I'll probably get down arrowed to oblivion on this but an observation. Trump had something like 20,000 people at a rally in Las Vegas. Obama had something like 200 at a similar rally in Las Vegas. Rosen kicked the crap out of Heller tonight. I know small sample size and I'm not sure what if anything it means but the optics don't match the results.

Obamacare collapsing. Clinics losing doctors left and right. Reimbursements to providers dropping. Healthcare crisis looming due to the abomination of Obamacare. Many/most clinics have quit taking Medicaid all together. Limiting medicare and Obamacare plans. This falls in the houses lap to fix. Gives GOP 2 years to get their shite together with a plan. Must cut drug costs, must cut administrative/overhead burden on providers, must allow interstate competition between insurances. Must fix the substantial pay difference between in facility and out of facility services.
Key issue going forward is healthcare. The Dems own it and now that they have the House, it's up to them to get legislation passed to fix it.
