And we've been "invading" to get stuff we've wanted done way before WWII dude. To keep it regionally on topic...we sent Marines down to Colombia to support the Panamanian separatists to get the Panama Canal done.
We'd agree on long wars, and yes there are ones that aren't being done for the betterment of America. Ie...getting leaders out in the ME to get moslim control isn't improving our future. But helping bring VE back to pre-2k standards is a plus for our nation. Essentially you are complaining about the fix to a problem that our meddling did under Democrat president obama.
The Monroe Doctrine should be abolished if getting involved down there is supposed to not be a thing. This alone makes it a difference between VE and Iraq.
