I write concerning Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Jonathan Gruber’s relationships with HHS. Recent reports state that Professor Gruber received nearly $400,000 from HHS in exchange for his providing assistance in evaluating Congress’s various health care reform proposals. During this same time, he was active in promoting and defending the Administration’s preferred health care policies both before Congress and in the media. This includes Dr. Gruber’s participation in the Committee’s May 12, 2009, Roundtable Discussion entitled “Financing Comprehensive Health Care Reform.” On occasions such as this one, it appears that Professor Gruber advanced the Administration’s agenda without disclosing the fact that he was receiving federal remuneration.
Wow, more transparency.

How many threads are we going to have on this?
Lots. Most of the folks that post here hate the ACA so this news is a buffet of red meat. Just sit back and let the feeding frenzy run itself out.

Most of the folks in the U.S. (before, during, and NOW) hate the ACA ... and this shite is not red meat ... it is a smoking gun regarding what was truly at play ... which anyone paying attention knew at the time.
I hope the threads and coverage NEVER go away.

One way to defeat deceit, incompetence, maliciousness, fraud, government abuse of power, etc. is to point it out when you see it! Not to go all Alex Jones but the citizens of this declining country better get involved at all levels to defeat the Libs/socialists/Neocons or we're fricked.

The problem is that Roberts had to know this and yet, he allowed it to stand.
Have to wonder what they promised or had on him?
Unless he's a super-genius that realized he could gut the Commerce Clause and then wait to rescind the ACA in a later case based on subsidies.

If true, it might be the single most deft move ever by a SCJ.

Why allow millions to lose their insurance plans and rates to skyrocket when he could have nipped it in the bud then?

I was being semi-serious. However, there is nothing stopping the SCOTUS from gutting the ACA on the new subsidies case.

It should be noted that Dr. Carson was part of the original think tank for this and once he found these type shenanigans were going on he politely excused himself.
Link?
If this is true, and he simply "politely excused himself" instead of becoming an Obamacare Paul Revere, he'll never get my vote......not the kind of "integrity" I'm looking for.

Do you remember the "things would have been worse" justification for the Stimulus even though the result was still shite? That's the type of argument that gets countered now.
By letting it take effect, everyone gets to see the steaming pile of shite it truly is so the likelihood that anyone tries to push it again lessens. Defeat it before it's implemented and the proponents just try again.

Yes, and when I hear it, I always counter it with: if it weren't for W's policies, the NASDAQ (which declined by 50% during Clinton's last year in office) would have crashed to zero.
(Demonstrating absurdity by being absurd)
