NPR Planet Money is one of the most obscure educational podcasts available

We called it National Pinko Radio in the late 70’s. Way left even then. And super boring.

man is that true. I think I have heard a story about a girl who is from Tunisia or Guatemala or whatever and is stuck between two cultures and what her identity means to her in white america a thousand times. I hear this story like once a week.

Can I inquire as to why you continue to listen to it? I am truly just curious. I listen occasionally as well.
Observation.
I listen to a broad range of news.
I listen to npr to understand today's Democrat and the Democrat Party political, social, and cultural philosophy and how they view issues.
I do listen to it less nowadays, probably once a week. It is very repetitive in its themes, as the most base and saturated propaganda tends to be.

I started listening to NPR in the 80s when I was in college.
I was fairly conservative - cofounder of my school’s first chapter of College Republicans, voted for Reagan - but I was young and my worldview wasn’t fully formed. I remember it being fairly middle-of-the-road and balanced and more intellectual than your average broadcast news station.
I listened to Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Fresh Air for the writer and musician interviews, and A Prairie Home Companion. I’m sure you could make the case they leaned left even back then but in my memory it didn’t seem so. Mainstream journalism and news commentary was still somewhat even-handed.
I have not listened in the past 15-20 years, but then again I almost never turn my car radio on anymore. It’s insufferably leftist and communist. They had a near mutiny last year when one of their long-time editors Uri Berliner wrote in the Free Press that NPR lost America because they are basically a leftist organization and looked down on a majority of the nation, which they are and do. He resigned in protest. Gotta respect him for calling them out and not backing down.

It's kind of sad because I remember when it was neutral, very professional, VERY boring news. That was a long time ago.
Yeah, as a kid I learned a lot from it. The civil wars in Yugoslavia and the first Iraq war. The Clarence Thomas hearings. I learned a lot about the world from NPR.
I can't stand it now.

They have reduced themselves to leftist havens at tax payer expense.
