Not Your Father's Democratic Party!

I can never understand how the older voters remain loyal to the Democratic Party just because their fathers and their grandfathers were Democrats. I see this as ignorance on their part...the Democrats of today are no where near in comparison to what they were 15 or 20 years ago. Their solid turn to the left can be described as extreme, for lack of a better description. The Republican Party, though not exactly a great fit either, is more aligned to our traditional American values, imo. Just saying.....WAKE UP AMERICANS!

People get set in their ways and refuse to look at new evidence. It is ignorance but also human nature. It's why the people that use checks in stores tend to be over 70. No matter your age, you should never stop learning.

I don't accept your premise. The demographics I've seen indicate that older voters trend GOP. I know a lot of older voters who are still registered Dem but haven't voted for a Dem in 30 years.

I am a business man for the last 35years. Before i was a construction worker that belonged to a union. I loved the democratic party back then simply because they looked after the working man. They spent money on infrastructure and state projects a plenty. This created job and kept wages up. I was diehard and so was my dad. He passed away 29years ago still a diehard democrat. But look at what has happened in the last 29years. Long story short it is NOT the party of the working man anymore. It is the party of taking away from the working man now. The people in the democratic party today are either looking for a handout or something free or if you are a politician you are looking for a vote and no more. I am 64 and have witnessed the transformation of the democratic party to a socialist party. I also think the republican party has changed because of President Trump. It now is the party of the working man in my belief.

Real Democrats going back to the 50's, 60's and 70's are racists who stayed true to the party because they hate blacks and love that LBJ fooled them all into voting Democrat.
These "new" Democrats perpetuate that racism with policies that encourage brown people to illegally enter the country, take jobs that deprive the black community of jobs, and pollute the communities with destabilizing influx of non-english speaking families that dilute the community of taxes and create chaos in the school system, deepening the black community's dependence on government.
Dems are the true racists.

That's BS, the democrats have ALWAYS been about spending, spending, spending and taking, taking, taking. Your view of what you thought they were was created by the media who has lied to you all your lifetime. I appreciate you coming over to the conservative side but there has never been anything good about dems in the last 50 years.
