Authorities said the 33-year-old man accused of stabbing four people to death in a rampage across two Orange County cities is a known gang member with a criminal record dating back to 2004.
Four men were killed and a 44-year-old man and 54-year-old woman were wounded in the attacks. Authorities have not released their names, but family members identified one of the individuals killed as 62-year-old Helmuth Hauprich.
Castaneda has an extensive criminal history in Orange County that includes convictions for gun-related offenses, resisting a police officer, corporal injury, drug possession and theft, according to court records.
He also has several open cases in Orange County Superior Court on charges of vandalism related to gang activity, possession of a dagger and drug possession. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges, court records show.
I had read that all involved were Hispanic, although Helmuth Hauprich hardly sounds Hispanic.
So the guy has a long record dating back to when he was 18 and he's still walking the streets, free to stab, kill and maim.

Common sense knife control is the only answer.

Funny how someone was just bragging this morning about how Orange county was turning blue. I suppose this story proves him right

Did he have a manifesto?

its ok because he used a knife instead of a gun so there are no bullet holes in the deceased so they're not a victim of a mass murder.

Stabbing people should be illegal.

They need to close the knife show loopholes and we need background checks before these loons can buy assault knives.
I bet that knife was a scary black color...
