It's amazing how an entity can profit based on the understanding of human tribalistic instinct.

It was a great superbowl.

Not sure that is the best metric though.

I can't imagine my love of sports being outweighed by some pretty come lately political BS and neither can most other red blooded American men. I'll be watching every Sunday this fall beer in hand as always while the boycotters do what exactly? Post here and jack each other off in solidarity as you search for live updates on who has dare chosen to kneel during the anthem this time? Have fun

For me, it wasn't so much the kneeling but the announcers giving political opinions throughout the game. Shut up and talk football. I watched football to get away from PC crap.

NFL is at it's peak and football won't exist in it's current form in 50 years.

That long term projection has nothing to do with politics though. Although last year certainly did.

We need to get Obama on the phone on this one. That might be too much income.

LINK

Their revenue was 13 billion. The players got nearly 6.5 billion of that. And a majority of the 13 billion in revenue is from the previous tv deals. So while viewership is down, it doesn't matter. It's already been paid for. Let's see what happens when TV contracts open up.

The idea that these leagues care about a "demographic" that will boycott is asinine.

Well good for them!

Now I don't have their economic ruin on my conscience while I continue to boycott all NFL other than Saints and play offs.

Only thing they got from me was as part of cable TV subscription. Only watch NCAA.

I didn't watch last year, which sucked because I love football but if they want to keep it up I'll gladly sit out another year.

I'm with you brother! I didn't watch a game last year due to player's political activism - first time since I was a kid.
