It isn’t an escalation when your survival is viewed as being at stake. They didn’t initiate this either. Gaza needs to burn and hamas specifically needs to be wiped out.

Hamas started the escalation by trying to take out Israel's defensive system and Israel is doing what is needed to defend themselves. It's never going to end so they might as well wipe them out of existence now.

If you actually did research you would find out that time after time Israel has sent out notices and dropped pamphlets letting the Palestinian people know they were going to bomb a certain area. They have given the citizens plenty of time to leave previously.
