i took a vacation about a month ago. it was awesome, but i couldn't tell you today with any certainty the exact dates i went, when exactly i went where, etc. i can tell you my favorite meals i had, or the best places we went, but details are fuzzy. many people can't tell you on monday morning what they did over the fricking weekend. this isn't a grand fricking conspiracy, it's how memories work. this is 101 shite.

when you add 30 fricking years to a memory, everything but the big-arse bullet points (like "i was raped by this a-hole") are going to be blurry and jumbled.

here's the truth: i made the account when i was living in louisiana, and i've always loved the board. even though i've long since moved from the deep south, i'll always be an LSU fan, and outside the poli board, you bastards are fricking hilarious and genuinely awesome people, so i've stuck around for the ride. I've historically kept my political opinions pretty much to myself, as being the guy who thinks all politicians are generally loathsome isn't exactly someone people want to talk politics with. i've also generally kept quiet politically because we've never really (at least in my lifetime) been in a situation where it could all go sideways. incremental damage was the name of the game until trump. now we're in the age of cataclysmic damage, and i'm partially responsible for that by not voting last election (HRC is a twat, and i wasn't voting for her for anything). so here we are. i'm a previously politically-apathetic person trying to do my part to save our little american experiment. we're probably too far gone to save, but i think it's still worth the fight.

i know that's not as cool as an alter with the patience of a monk, but it's the truth. believe what you want.

her claim is DOA in terms of potential impact--it's just another voice to add to the chorus. Whether it's valid or not is immaterial to the people it's intended to impact (voters), as Trump admitted (and it was recorded and played back to a global audience!) before the last election he sexually assaults people and it didn't sway voters then, so this latest accusation certainly isn't going to sway those same people now. Trump supporters have long ago swallowed the poison pill.

but pretending someone's job and credentials don't matter to their claims (or that the revelation of them to readers/viewers is "elitist") is embarrassingly facile.
