New Jersey Mayor Stands Against LGBTQ Education Law

Barnegat, New Jersey, Mayor Alfonso Cirulli is leading the charge in a campaign to oppose a new state law requiring all public middle and high schools to teach students about LGBTQ history. In a town meeting on Aug. 6, Cirulli urged residents to put pressure on New Jersey lawmakers to reverse the law.
The legislation, signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy in January, requires public schools to “include instruction, and adopt instructional materials, that accurately portray political, economic and social contributions of persons with disabilities and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.” The law has no provision that allows for parents to opt out.
“[It’s] an affront to almighty God,” Cirulli said. “No group has a right to force others to comply with their beliefs, deprive them of their First Amendment rights and strip the rights of parents of how to morally raise their children.”
Cirulli, a former teacher and assistant principal, worries that the inclusion of LGBTQ lessons may lead some children to have “an identity crisis.”
“This tramples First Amendment rights, especially religious freedom,” he said. “Because you’re crossing into a realm that I believe as an educator, education should not be crossing into. … Now is the time for the righteous to stand up for their rights.”
Brian Latwis, superintendent of the Barnegat Township School District, wrote in a statement on the district’s website that the schools will comply with state guidelines, which are set to take effect at the beginning of 2020-2021 school year.
New Jersey is the second state to enact legislation that requires schools to adopt LGBTQ-inclusive curricula. California passed a similar law in 2011.

I would suggest teaching the kids how to shoot and clean a firearm would take them much further in life than teaching a boy how to dress like a girl.

Why do kids need to know who is having sex with who?
Why does sexual orientation matter one bit when considering contributors to society?

And this lesson needs to be taught as early as possible, so that these persons can decide their sex preference instead of letting the patriarchy mandate sexual identification.
Sexual enlightenment is the only path forward for the nonbinary cisgendered bigots

I probably Would want to see the curriculum before blasting the law.
Teaching kids that gay people exists and have contributed to society historically isn’t exactly an agenda.
It’s just a smaller civil rights movement, and there are some interesting historical figures that everyone things were gay.
A lot of historians think we already had our first Gay President

Chinese children are learning Calculus while American children are learning fake pronouns.

So you wouldn’t object to a course that isolated Christianity and talked about how Christians have contributed to society?
Or racists? The course could zero in on all of the racists in our history and talk about their positive contributions to society. That doesn’t look like an agenda, does it?

Almost all history courses that involve western civilazation discuss the role Of religion heavily.
You can’t really discuss European history without it.
You can’t talk about the pilgrims without it.
I mean We teach kids about the 3/5 compromise. That’s about as racist as it gets but it is instrumental in the formation of the constitution.
So the answer is No, I wouldn't Object to that.
Also it’s our current history curriculum

And almost all history courses talk about people who were gay. I’m talking about calling it “Christian History” and it will only talk about the positive contributions of Christians. No problem, right?
Come on, this an agenda. You might think it’s a worthwhile agenda but it’s plainly promoting (and probably endorsing) a specific sexual identity. There’s no other purpose for it.
