re: "Net Neutrality" supporters want sites banned

A local monopoly caused lack of demand is ok. In that event of demand increases then it becomes worthwhile for another ISP to move in.
The problem is local monopolies caused by government policies that supply and demand can't overcome.

The bigger issue rather than a singular monopoly in Telecom is a de facto cartel.
This is true, but net neutrality won't solve this.

With no NN and ISPs controlling traffic with fast lanes and perfered sites it makes censoring easier.

In many areas, these government contracted monopolies are the only reason internet access exists in those areas. NN would only create problems for those areas.

The irony of advocating for FCC control of internet access and using censorship as an argument for it.

I guess you enjoy substandard internet

It isn't a particularly outlandish world to imagine Comcast doing some censoring.

You clearly don't understand the concept of treating all traffic the same
Then again multiple posters have tried to explain a lot of NN topics to you and you never understand.

Funny you mention Comcast. Here's a good explanation of net neutrality...

See that's the problem here. I audit local governments for a living. You guys are completely out of your depth discussing this issue and its affects on local municipalities with me, yet insist I'm the moron when I explain to you the reality of what you're saying.
ETA: It's one thing to have a law against throttling internet speeds to certain websites, but that's not what I've been trying to discuss. I'm specifically talking about removing the ability for local municipalities to attract providers to their areas by removing the monopoly contracts posters here seem to believe are the most evil thing imaginable.

The government isn't going to regulate packets
It's to ensure ISPs don't prioritize them.
How can you not grasp this?

This is a completely different discussion than the one I've been responding to. I have no issues removing throttling. I have issues with the other things being advocated along with that.

I think that's already law, is it not?
