So would the posters who believe that this war could end if Ukraine showed up to the peace table please explain how this war is still going on even though Ukraine showed up to the peace table?

Where is the article that said Russia was invited to participate?

Lololololololololololololololololol.

Wagner has been deployed in Africa for 5+ years, have you not heard a little something about NATO shitting themselves over Wagner troops training in Belarus?

You should look up Belarus on a map, I'm sure the strategic location to Kyiv is a coincidence or shall we call it "alt reality"?

You realize Ukrainian troops surrendering don't count right? The counteroffensive has been an absolute failure and has achieved nothing.

Let Russia win the war. They can foot the bill to rebuild the infrastructure and everything that's been destroyed.

Ukraine has no economic value. Russia has natural resources.

Don’t kid yourself.

Then why is Russia trying to expand their territory into Ukraine? Hint - it's about trade routes and natural resources moron.

If you exclude one of the combatants, then it's not peace talks.

Deploy then to fight for the nation you love against the nation you hate. I don’t get it. What are people like you waiting for? Your neighbors kid to get deployed so you can put on your “I support the troops” pin so you can pretend to care?

Here’s a link to help you: LINK

You’ll probably just smoke pot and play video games instead, in your moms basement like you have for your entire adult life

What does this even mean? Two people now have said this to me when I upset them. Feel free to explain

Anyways. Also feel free to deploy to Ukraine. There’s a link 5 posts above I provided to help you. We know you won’t, because you’d be crying for your mother within 24 hours and dead within 72. Our country would be better off with the latter. Need to get rid of folks like you

About the same amount of time I’ve been hearing that the mighty Ukrainian military is going to win this thing any day now…just a few more billion dollars away from total victory

Striking that it isn't the US leading the charge on peace talks isn't it? This country isn't headed by leaders. It's headed by greed, corruption, war profiteers.

Too old and too fat and too many responsibilities here in the USA.

I used to live in Ukraine. I know who to get in touch with if I wanted to fight.

Outside of the eastern region I doubt they want anything that's above ground.

What’s my original name then? I encourage you and the administrators of the site to check in on this since you’re using this to dodge the actual argument.

Heh, responsibilities, like what?

I won’t speak to your military experience. Appreciate your service if true, know plenty of people who didn’t come home the same from there. But it makes me wonder - why continue to support war overseas for more men to suffer the same fate?

If you’re too old to fight, then STFU. Your support for this war that prob just strokes your ego is going to lead to people my age dying. You do realize that we first deployed troops to Vietnam in 1954, to support the French, a whole 12 years before the war reached its peak? The parallels to this conflict are striking. Is that what you want?

Nice - glad you lived in Ukraine. Go home.

1. I know lots of people who did not make it home including my 2 best friends.

2. This war is not like the Vietnam War. This is not some civil war between 2 sects of the same nationality. This is a war of aggression by Russia trying to erase Ukraine from the map.

3. I support the war because I have lived in both Ukraine and Russia. I have seen the corruption in both. I have also seen how Russia stole the Ukrainian presidential election in 2010 and how full of fascists Russia is. I also know that Ukrainians do not want to be Russians and I support self determination.

I am home. USA is home. I was so pissed with the Bush administration for going to Iraq but I did not see the democrats as anything better so I moved after getting discharged from the army after I got home from Iraq. However, after living in several countries including Ukraine and Russia I decided that I needed to come home to the USA to raise to my children.

The Ukrainians are fricked

They need three to four times as much artillery as they have. Worse, they don’t have enough ammunition for the guns they do have, we just can’t manufacture it quickly enough for them. We lost that production capacity.

They’ve also taken brutal casualties over the last year, which has decimated their officer corps, especially the junior leaders. So there’s an experience issue now. You can see how they struggle to organize complicated maneuvers. And this experience issue is magnified among the enlisted who are getting very rushed and a consequence grossly inadequate training. They’re not prepared for what they’ve being asked to do.

And then they don’t have any air support.

The armor losses are bad, and this will become a problem later in the year, because no one in the west is mass producing them on any scale. They can’t replace these losses.

The minefields. They don’t have any technical solution for them.

They do have one advantage, which is manpower, but it’s not an inexhaustible resource. They’re not careful with the lives of their soldiers and they will run out of men fighting the war the way they are.
