Tell her the odds are greater for her being harmed by someone that goes to the same school as her than by the Taliban.

Just tell her that when the Taliban can beat our arse other state actors get emboldened, like China. That’s why foreign policy matters.
And if you need to simply describe the predominant foreign policy ideas in America it is this:
Biden foreign policy: don't fight them over there, let them in (open borders) and don't fight them here.
Necon Liz Cheney foreign policy: fight then over there, let them in (open borders) and fight them over here.
Trumpian foreign policy: let them fight over there, don't let them in (secure borders), and if they get in deport them.

Yes and no. Yes they are not Al-Qaeda, no in that they purposely sheltered and refused to hand over OBL (which is why we went in there). At the very least they were complicit due to attempting to shelter him.
