We were given the option to show the inauguration to our class and I opted to not show it. My fifth grade daughter had to watch in her class. She said there were several students sleeping or drawing because they did not want to watch.

Normally, my cousin and his wife would punish her as they are strict parents. They took her for ice cream
is she in 8th grade or 1st grade?

Why are you not paying attention to this historical event

Million to one odds no republican nomination will ever be shown in her classroom. Partisanship is a cancer.

What's funny is the school I was at in 2016 would not allow us to show the inauguration to our students. Their reason: "It was too controversial".

Your cousin should tell her that Anne Frank also witnessed history and that she would prefer to pass.

Goose-stepping seems to have evolved from this:

This is exactly what the left loves to do. project themselves onto the right. Everything in here is what the left does
Just read a copy of The Gulag Archipelago. Solzinitzen describes to a tee what the left does. They start off with insult and ridicule and then go on to things like vandalizing your personnel property, and in the end, they put you in the gulag for "reeducation," which many times means pure evil like frontal lobotomies. Not trying to scare anyone. Just being truthful.

Let me guess, was it Athens-Clarke County? If so, it figures. Otoh, it might be Athens Academy. Could be the school system I went to in middle Georgia too. Hard to hide from Marxist craziness.

No, not made up. I’m not a Leftist. I report truths and facts. Kids these days are more vocal and absorb much more as there are more mediums available, and they can feed off their elders such as their parents. I wasn’t that risky when I was her age back in 1997-98. When children or young adults in high school or middle school are told how to think if it’s not having to do with current in-classroom curriculum then they should have a voice whether it gets them disciplined or not.

In our house, in elementary and junior high, we address these things behind the scenes. To the kids, teachers, principals and police are not wrong.

In high school, challenge away.
