My 7 y.o. daughter told me last night that it was okay for a girl to "like" another girl

I wasn't sure how to address her comment.
Growing up, we were told that gay people couldn't help how they felt because they were born that way. So if you are born that way then maybe it is true that it is okay for you to be attracted to the same sex. But if you're not gay, and hence not born that way, then why would you ever "like" someone of the same sex? This seems to prove that this is all a result of societal norms/acceptance and not because someone is born being predisposed to be attracted to the same sex.
We are raising in our children in a conservative area surrounded by conservative friends and ideals. So it is clear that the left has won the culture wars if this idea has manifested itself to my young children. It's a frustrating situation to raise children in this Godless society. But what are we to do if we can't avoid this by raising our children in the best possible place for them and trying our best efforts to not expose them to these sins?
In the end, I told her that gay people can live their life how they want. But it is not normal for girls to like other girls in that manner.

Scientifically dead as of a couple years ago.
We have the dna receipts.

Start getting involved with her school. I promise you’ll find the LGBTQ agenda spewed all over the place.

its sad you cant watch a kids show with you child without seeing the left agenda being pushed.

And they sneak it in the most random shows. I found out a show my 5 year old was watching on Netflix had a cow that was a damn tranny! WTF.

I find myself using "Well, in our house..."
Boys wear boy clothes
Girls wear girl clothes
Boys marry girls
So on and so forth
We don't criticize, we just state it matter of factly.

Yeah, there isn't a 'gay gene' but there are still plenty of possible biological causes.

You probably have two realistic options at this point:
1) Accept your daughter will be groomed to be a lesbo, or worse.
2) Homeschool her, however difficult that may be.

And many possible social and environmental causes.
Which is why "born that way" as we've historically defined immutable characteristics, is dead.

All it ever should've been was "mind your own business."

Welcome to 10 years ago?
Seven isn't too early for apologetics, especially if you're going to leave her in public school. Make her think through what makes being gay ok, and what does that mean for other activities?
ETA As I said in another thread, we NEVER pulled religion out of public schools. The religion just changed.

It’s best to raise your kids to think gay is taboo, just like we used to think when we were kids. This political correctness bullshite is why we are in this situation. Everyone decided that they didn’t want to offend people anymore, so they just stopped calling out the depravity.
Now we have went down the slippery slope as a consequence.

7 years old.
I was around the age of 15 before I fully understood what "being queer" was all about. I was shocked to learn that depraved men would do that to each other and even more shocked to learn they prey on kids and teens.
This is coming from indoctrination at her school. You need to get to the bottom of this with school administrators and nip this in the bud.

This. Also raising my daughter to hate college-educated white women.

I mean, if we find that there is an autoimmune process similar to hemolytic anemia of the newborn, then it is difficult to say they aren't 'born that way.'

This push towards the normalization of the freaks among us is not the first time, historically, it has happened. Hence the term, came out of the closet.
Gooooooooooooberment will use them to create chaos now. The divisive stage is pretty much done. We have become lazy and allowed ourselves and now our kids, to fall into the indoctrination of a central gooooooooooooooooooberment.
Contact your elected representatives and raise hell now. Ask your close friends and family members to do the same. The freaks among us have been let loose.
It's time for us to get real.

this is the goal. telling you it's normal and always been that way.
it's not.
i've tried to navigate that with my boys and just say "we don't accept it as normal or what the Bible says is good or holy, but they are still people that sin just like us, made in God's image. We just don't justify our sin or say 'that's a misinterpretation of scripture' to fit our life."
that resulted in them both thinking that the gays or icky and me having to tell them that "gay" shouldn't be used as an insult. i want to err on the side of grace and compassion, but also not accept sin. in that i failed a bit.

Seems reasonable. But look into her school.
1st step is its ok
Next step is here a book that says your butthole is a pleasure zone.
People will think im being sarcastic or extreme, but was a news story of a book available for 8 year olds in the Rogers AR library that included butthole touching.
This doesnt even bring up the did you know sex and gender are different, and are you confused about your gender?
Public schools may be a lost cause.

My wife is religious. She wants to leave the US when our kids are around 7. She want to go live next to her parents in Lebanon to have our kids raised in a moral enviroment.
