What is the line of succession in the DOJ? If Sessions is fired, it could take awhile to get his replacement confirmed...

If that happens the President has the authority to name an acting Attorney General who will do the job until the Senate confirms.

I agree 100% that Trump should wait until midterms.

Would be like kicking a hornets nest of
Trigglypoofs if he does it before

its quite entertaining to see how upset you all are over this unfair witch hunt despite having zero idea of what evidence has been uncovered and said by witnesses that led to this

If there was any evidence of Trump committing a crime, Mueller would have issued a report so Congress could act on his findings of fact. We are over a year into this and there has been no evidence of Russian collusion and no evidence of Trump committing any crime.

Once again I say...what are Trump supporters so afraid of? If Honest Donald has nothing to hide. One would think that Trump supporters would be happy to let Mueller show that there is nothing to hide.

I agree with this.

Mueller ending his investigation and finding no wrongdoing by trump or campaign would be the single biggest egg-on-your-face moment since election night 2016.

Would make media look terrible, would get huge monkey off trump's back.

Oh well by all means continue the witch hunt using questionable tactics.

Can Sessions fire Mueller
Normally yes. But Mr Magoo recused himself, so he probably would be reticent to take action against Mueller. That Leaves Rosenstein, whom it appears Mueller may be protecting, and the POTUS himself.

This is the United States of America. We are not supposed to be a banana republic, yet we have a criminal investigation that was begun based on opposition research that hasn't been so much as minimally verified.

We have multiple branches and agencies of our government colluding to get a special counsel appointed, hoping that when that happens, Trump's impeachment can proceed.

We have reached a point where the Democratic Party and the Never Trump Republicans have normalized impeaching a President for the crime of disagreeing with his politics and temperament. And these are the same people who lectured Trump voters about not accepting the results of the 2016 election.

Call down to the police station today and tell them you need your house searched to make sure you don't have anything illegal in it.

see how that turns out.

Every single of us should be afraid that the deep state, for lack of a better term, can do this to someone as powerful as Trump, imagine what they could do to an insignificant average American.

Now, Trump could do one of two things.

1. He could fire Sessions , name a new Attorney General and at that point Session's recusal in a non issue and the new AG immediately has jurisdiction over the Special Counsel.

2. Fire Rod Rosenstein and appoint a new Deputy AG, leaving Sessions in place which would still make the Deputy AG the acting AG for this particular case.

3. Of course Jeff Sessions could fire Rosenstein

Neither Sessions nor Trump can directly fire Mueller though.
I wonder if it is accurate news that Sessions said if RR gets fired he would leave. This does not look good politically but don't let the door hit ya.

Also RR assuring Trump he was in the clear is BS.

Why is Sessions protecting RR? Even if the news story is false that Sessions said he would go if RR did. Sessions can and should still fire him or speak up and say COMMON SENSE PREVAILS RR MUST RECUSE HIMSELF.

As RR is the one that wrote the letter suggesting Comey get fired, and Trump is being investigated for obstruction for firing Comey...

I know that I, for one, have nothing to hide. At the same time, I'm not stupid.

"Mr. Spaniel, we didn't find anything illegal in your house, so we are interviewing your neighbors and a few people you went to 3rd grade with. We'll see where we go from there."

No, Trump already made that mistake. He needs to go outside of politics and find someone who is law and order all the way. Someone who doesn't have a built in perception of bias either way. Someone who comes in with a fresh set of eyes and looks at the entirely of the investigation and determines whether it's appropriate to continue or not and the average sane person can't claim "well s/he made that decision because this or that"

Someone who isn't personally invested in "the system"

This is one of the things I'm most disappointed in Trump about, he brought in more alligators.

It would turn out fine.

"The [prosecutor] is the representative not of an ordinary party to a controversy, but of a sovereignty whose obligation to govern impartially is as compelling as its obligation to govern at all; and whose interest, therefore, in a criminal prosecution is not that it shall win a case, but that justice shall be done. As such, he is in a peculiar and very definite sense the servant of the law, the twofold aim of which is that guilt shall not escape or innocence suffer. He may prosecute with earnestness and vigor - indeed, he should do so. But, while he may strike hard blows, he is not at liberty to strike foul ones. It is as much his duty to refrain from improper methods calculated to produce a wrongful conviction as it is to use every legitimate means to bring about a just one." Berger v U.S.

Sessions is busy

No, Sessions is sitting on the sideline while Mueller & Co destroy lives.

But the 'trust sessions' crowd, because Q commands them thusly, will stick to the mantra in hopes that one day Sessions does something good. But in the meantime Flynn has been ruined, among others. Does Mueller have to wrongly convict more people and let them die in prison before you speak up? That's what he did in the past.

Does anyone have the balls to call out Sessions for allowing the same pattern of misconduct to emerge once again?

How long does Flynn have to wait before he can be made whole? How long does Caputo have to wait?

Are any of you 'trust sessions' people interested in justice - or are you only interested in trying to look like you were right? Is Flynn's destruction worth it to you? How about Caputo and his family? You good with that too?

I realize Q has a compelling message for some people, but enough is enough. Find your moral compass.
