they said they will give democrats EQUAL TIME IF they air the President. that is mighty kind of them to help democrats. IT IS THE PRESIDENT.

In my defense I didn’t state Obama’s Immigration speech as fact, but instead asked it in the form a of question.
This speech will be Trump’s FIRST from the oval. Obama’s Immigration speech was definitely not his first from the Oval - which was in fact - broadcast live and in prime time on all 3 majors.
Frankly - I can handle It not being broadcast on a major network because of “advertisers” but I have a serious problem with these people using said advertisers as a pretext. And I think they are.
In light of constant criticism and hatred by the actual entertainment industries (that these broadcast networks are a part of) I have trouble accepting on it’s face that these networks would refuse to air it bc they already sold some ad space.
My skepticism is raised to a 10/10 in light of chatter that these networks think that they should filter what the POTUS says bc some news producer thinks it’s his place to put a filter btwn Trump’s message and actual Americans. It’s not Chris Cuomo’s job to watch the speech and then tell me what I need to know. But people like Cuomo believe it is.

Nope, a number of networks chose not to air his 2014 address...
I have no doubt that they won't because of spite for Trump, but can't say they didn't do the same to Obama

Agreed the MSM will spite Trump any chance they can. It is odd that the networks have said that IF they air a POTUS address that is 8-9 minutes long they will give democrats "equal air time."

I know for the SOTU this is the norm, but I've never heard of it for a presidential address

That's just one of the many good things about the Trump admin, he doesn't need primetime slots on those channels to get his message across.
Between TrumpTv, YouTube, live streams, twitter, messageboards, conservative radio, and the 24-hour news networks constantly on Defcon 1 over anything he says - he gets his message through to anyone who pays attention.
It's comical that these networks think they can squash his speech by not airing it (which they probably will anyway).
He's got his fake news and they have theirs.... it's not like they'd wouldn't immediately fact check him.
