And saying that marijuana is bad for developing children is a stupid argument against legalization for adults. No one is suggesting that 12 year olds should be able to buy it.

Increased usage by 12 year olds has followed legalization. Maybe you missed that.

I would swap Alabama's Mawmaw or Louisiana's JBE for Tate in a second, unless I lived in Mississippi

Medical pot may have passed a statewide vote but his base is not in favor and he wants to be re-elected, the Baptist Taliban is alive and well in MS and votes Republican.

After 2 years of governments and doctors withholding treatments for covid and the implementation of vaccine mandates, it's amazing anyone would still trust them to tell adults what they can and cannot put in their own bodies. It's especially embarrassing if you claim to be a freedom-loving conservative.

Pretty sure the issue here is people using false information to legalize it and using fake outrage of "medical MJ"....

Well there's a pretty solid reason why I didn't assume what your stance was because that's pretty irrelevant to the point of my post.

Whether or not I, or many others, want it to be fully legalized, is not the topic of discussion. We are talking about a bill that the people of Mississippi overwhelmingly voted for and Reeves didn’t like the outcome.

They voted overwhelmingly for a referendum that was illegally placed on the ballot. Reeves didn't have crap to do with that part.

ETA - although he was Lt Gov for 8 years and did nothing to correct the issue of their being 5 congressional districts when we only have 4. That was the whole issue with the referendum being tossed by the state supreme court.

His completely idiotic logic behind a veto is that he doesn’t want the terrible weeds on the street because of his daughters….

If he doesn’t want his daughters’ pot laced with fentanyl, then he might want to legalize pot. Tate Reeves is a tyrannical moron.

Colorado sees record overdose deaths in 2020, 37% increase over previous year

Every single fricking state saw a record. 100,000 more people died in overdoses than the year before. You are a fricking moron if you think this has anything to do with Colorado’s marijuana laws and not say people like Fauci, Weingarten, and DeBlasio.

Wow. You are the dumb frick that claims hundreds die yearly from fatal marijuana overdoses/Marijuana poisonings and claim someone who dies from driving drunk is an alcohol overdose.

It's been several days since I read his reasoning for limiting the amount each day and I am ambivalent as to whether Ms gets medical marijuana or not. But, wouldn't it be better for the House and Senate know before writing the bill, etc., what would get the governor's signature. If the legislators voted the wishes of their people, then they might have a veto proof number but I doubt it.
On an added note, I was against the referendum because it would be a constitutional amendment. We never get anything right on the first pass, so the only way to correct something in the referendum is going back through the amendment process. Impossible to do. It would be better to go through the legislative process so that corrections could be made if needed.

It was only illegal after the fact. No one knew that teeny tiny tidbit in the state constitution about 5 districts until Reeves became governor. Reeves does not want to legalize marijuana in any manner, so they found the loophole to bury it. Just because they got their way on a technicality (the fact that there are only 4 districts in the state), should absolutely not mean that what state citizens overwhelmingly voted for should be tossed to the wayside.
