I believe they acquired the film when they acquired a studio. Disney is notorious for having issues releasing IPs in this nexus.
Same thing happened with the Empty Man. It finished filming in 2017 but didn't get released until 2020. Last I saw, it wasn't even given DVD/BluRay distro, but that may have changed.

I literally gave you an example of a movie this occurred with, which wasn't a Blood Diamond derivative (yes, Hollywood has covered the topic of child trafficking with big budget/releases before).

One of the most disturbing visuals to me was the tattooing scene. What made it so horrifying is what it symbolized— the girl was being branded like so much livestock.

It’s good. Suspenseful and entertaining. Well told story. Not gory. No perverted scenes. Plus it took them 5 years of red tape to have it shown, so you know it’s true

Just like the sick and twisted bastards who sell children into the sex trade there are sick fricks on this forum who don't see child sex trafficking as a serious crime.

Just listened to Jim’s interview with Shawn Ryan. What these people (leftists, liberals) are doing exposing kids(as young as 5 years old) to their sex obsessed ideas in our schools, libraries, parades, etc. is disgusting. Now they are coming for our kids to perform sex change surgeries in their early teen years. Good luck to them when they meet their maker. Matthew 18:6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.“
