Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan had the same ability to project US military power. Under Carter, the Soviets were adventurist and provocative because they knew Carter was a pussy.

When Reagan took over the USSR was scared to death he'd start a world war. No one is scared of US power projection under Obama.

He is in arguably the most powerful position in the world. He is Commander of the largest and most advanced military in the world.

He is not the strongest leader in the world. He is a weak leader, but still in the most powerful position as far as the power he is in charge of.

I don't think he is the most powerful man influence wise..not many take him seriously. But all he would have to do is use the power he controls and people would take him seriously then.

Magic Johnson just referred to President Obama as the most powerful man in the world. Is that still true?

President Obama was number two, Cougar was number one. Cougar lost it—turned in his wings. President Obama is number one. But he better remember one thing: if he screw ups just this [pinches fingers for emphasis] much, he'll be flying a cargo plane full of rubber dog shite out of Hong Kong!

Still?
The POTUS never was and never will be the most powerful man in the world. The naivete it takes to believe that is part of the reason this country is in the shitter, IMHO.

The most powerful man in the world is the man with the biggest gun and/or access to the biggest bank account in the world. I think it's pretty clear who that person is.

Honestly, I think Janet Yellin is much more powerful than Obama.

Other than winning elections with help from statists and an obliging media, Obama is a dismal failure and far from the most powerful man in the world. And considering his failed foreign policy, divisive social policy and the way Obamacare is going, Obama might well go down as one of the worst Presidents in U.S. history.

Now there are certain behaviors we choose to ignore, but even Putin knows better than to so provoke the USA to cause Obama to call for the briefcase.

This.

Some of y'all don't know what "power" is. Like him or not, the POTUS is the most powerful man on the planet. He's commander in chief of the world's largest and most capable military as well as the leader of the world's wealthiest nation. Whether or not you agree with his exercise of his power is beyond the point, because the power is there.
