So what is that solution I mentioned? Well, the Portland city council has approved a $6 million plan that is designed to combat the increasing rate of shootings. Not a dime of it will go towards the city’s police bureau, though. Of that money, $4.1 million will go towards community groups for work in the neighborhoods most affected by the gun violence. Another $1.4 million will go towards “unarmed park rangers” who will be patrolling around the clock. Yes, you read that correctly. The plan includes having the good guys politely asking the bad guys to stop. What could go wrong? Unfortunately, this could cost lives before the entirety of some people’s stupidity is realized.
