I see this more as negotiating with McCarthy. Good was VERY clear he is not pleased with the direction McCarthy has been going with his bowing to the dems, so taking this to mean Good would rather have a dem speaker doesn't add up.

Don't forget they also actively conspired with Dems to keep anyone who said a nice word about trump from getting elected.

They want to keep targeting trump and all trump allies, but they don't want to be the next Liz Cheney. So they want a Democrat speaker, so when the targeting of trump and trump allies continue, they can just shrug their shoulders and pretend it's that mean speaker.
