I was watching ESPN last night for sports highlights
quote:You know it's coming but you still watch. You are one of those who allow them to do that. They know you are weak and will not change as long as it doesn't affect their numbers. If the 40% of ESPN viewers who are put off by the politics actually quit watching they would notice. Instead, yall are too weak and need your silly highlights.
and of course here comes the political stuff..

If college sports and pro sports disappear tomorrow, I will not miss it.

I started thinking that a few years before all this started, would actually get mad at myself for giving a shite.
These assholes actually did me a favor

I'll say it again for the slow Froman. Go check last year's World Series ratings. Worst ever.

I've thought about it since turning 30 many years ago and having a spouse, kids, work, responsibility and other forms of active hobbies. That is how I define myself, not based on a team of guys who couldn't give a shite if I lived or died and don't even know I exist. Grown men cry over sports, win or lose. They birch at their kids and wife after a loss. They mope until Wednesday when their team loses. Meanwhile the players are leaving early for the NFL or looking to jump teams for the best free agent contract. They don't care if they are a Falcon, Saint or Seahawk.

Eh it was more of a distraction for me. I did invest in the university and spent money on sports, considerable amounts. I started moving away when they started changing names on buildings. For pro sports never been a big fan.
Honestly if pro sports went away and the other sports returned to a club level, with kids playing for the love of the game again it might save college athletics to some extent.

I consider myself a "baseball fan" and I still don't watch much. I'll try and watch less, but it'll be hard to watch less than I already do.

ESPN is all politics now. They just won’t stop with the bullshite.
I’m done.
I’m done.

The MLB caved in to economic terrorism. It's like an airline pilot ceding the cockpit to the hijacker.
This won't end well for the MLB.

It says poll workers can't give free food and water to voters within 150 ft of the polling stations.
Just to get a clarification...I thought actual poll workers can have some handy to hand out if asked for, but it's the candidate related people outside that can't. Ie...actual poll workers are trusted to be non-partisan (or should be) and won't say it's from xyz candidate or labelled bottle for one, etc. Am I wrong? As if I'm not the way you worded it can definitely cause confusion and add to the Dems case.

Nobody at the MLB will care about losing the rednecks of South. It’s the reason there are only a few clubs in the South.
I'm sure Trump coming out telling his 10s of millions of supporters to boycott them won't be felt at all. Especially since majority of them are the heart of this nation types that support sports they grew up playing more than Bidens soy boys that grew up larping.

They won’t. I think they are wrong in their reasoning, but this won’t hurt them, it just hurts Georgia.
The thing is..do they have much further down to go by doing something like this?
They aren't in the best position to continue to dig in their hole. What I don't get is doing all of this when the wuflu shut down so much. Sports tv ratings should be off the charts with people stuck at home, but they've gone down. The TX Rangers had to push their grand opening a year, and will still be down to 25-50% capacity this season after their full capacity opening game.
I wonder peoples thought on if a sports franchise would be a good investment right now. If not heavily discounted.

They should move the game to Chyna, where the corporations hire most of their employees.

I can't believe how stupid these CEOs are to fall for the DNC/MSM propaganda BS hook, line and sinker.

It says no person shall give any food or water to voters within 150 feet of the polling stations. The poll workers may set up self serve stations that are 150+ feet away.
The dems are acting like voters are coming from concentration camps to vote.

It would be. You can look at the sports that do not have a pro path past college for examples of what it could look like. Of course private organizations would have to step up to keep those alive too.
My daughter is going to play college softball. She didn’t need an athletic scholarship to do so with her ACT score. The recruiting process was brutal so I can only imagine what football is. She turned down D1 offers because of the “fit” and opted for a nice D2 that has her degree and “fit”.
My son is a shooter (clays) and will travel the club sport path to some extent. Totally different animals and kids can get paid if they are good enough to attract and retain sponsors.
