I mean, I get hating criminals, but you're talking about there are definitely dudes in there for weed.

Nobody deserves to get raped or murdered because they sold weed.

I don’t remember any of the dead guys being “just in there for weed”.

Those numbers are overblown for dramatic effect.

See how long it takes to find someone "in for weed" There are certainly outliers but if they are in "just for weed" then they probably got caught with a shitton of it or they are in a satellite facility or a county/state inmate in the county they were convicted. Some, maybe house arrest. Just type in any letter into the last name field and see how many Marijuana possessions you come up with.

The only way someone is in Parhman for weed is if the got caught selling over 10LBS with 2 prior felonies or as a parole violation.

Can I have less than zero fricks to give? It's pretty easy to stay out of prison. I do volunteer work in prisons and I don't ask (actually we never ask) what they are in for. But, they should have been fully aware of the risks and consequences of doing whatever it is they did. If they didn't understand the consequences potential, then that's on them. That being said, there are huge discrepancies in sentencing here and everywhere based on what kind of defense you present. Those that can afford decent attorneys end up with shorter sentences than those that must rely on public defenders. But, again, know the consequences of your actions.
