My guess as well. Dims know the Rs won’t press them on the Biden’s because half the Senate is likely implicated in Ukrainian self-dealing as well. Bought and paid for press guarantees it never sees light of day. Trump probably has had his family threatened with Arkancide if he drops any evidence publicly.

It's the right move. People were already saying Trump wouldn't be acquitted in the eyes of many if Republicans didn't bend a little on witnesses. Have a couple witnesses, take the vote, acquit Trump and move on. This allows Republicans to say they had a fair trial. Blocking witnesses would be a bad look for a lot of independents and that's who the Republicans are going after.
