We aren't cleaning Russia out of any toys! They are producing new toys and replacing the spent ones at a rate 4 times faster than the west. That's a narrative being pushed to justify the slaughter of a country and it's citizens.
Mike Johnson is a uniparty pos.

The MIC is excellent at inventing boogeymen.

Putin being an a-hole does not a national security interest make.

Where the hell is the actual evidence besides these MIC assholes that have propagandized you that Putin is going to take over the world?

Are they producing shells faster than us? Yeah.

Are they producing 5th generation fighters faster than us? No fricking way.

They have lost 13 gen 4 aircraft in the last three months, they can only make about 22 a year. And again those are 4th gen, which is basically just fish in a barrel to our 5th gen F35s. shite the F22s we leave parked in Poland would be enough to clean out what they have left.

Add in the over 1000 tanks destroyed, and almost all of their really good Soviet cruise missiles being used up, and this war has hurt them worse than any conflict post-WW2.

What are you talking about?

This goal here isn't to prevent Putin from taking over the world.

The goal is to wipe out enough of Russia's best toys so that NATO doesn't need most of our hardware parked in that theater to allow EU nations to be defended from some future Russian aggression post-Putin.

Putin's war is what will allow us to pivot to the Pacific and build up an arsenal there that will prevent China from expanding its sphere of influence this century.

The same thing could have been accomplished by actually signing an agreement that Ukraine would never be part of NATO. But we didn’t. And now Ukraine is our “strongest ally.” So it certainly appears like we aren’t going to be able to “move our toys” because we have the evil Poooootin threatening something.

The only entity benefiting from our “string alliance” are the same ppl who benefit from the Poooootin Boogeyman: Ukrainian oligarchs and MIC contractors.

I call bullshite oh Mike Johnson- who has apparently gone full babe in the woods and gotten rolled by the MIC, or is complicit- but from 30,000 feet the real goal looks like the perpetuation of a boogeyman so that we need new “toys” to store at NATO. None of that keeps any of us any safer.

I don’t believe shite that the Biden Administration, the CIA or the State Department says. Even when Mike Johnson goes on to the Moon Griffon show to sell me the same line of bullshite they’ve been peddling since the 50s.

If that is the case then the Budapest Memorandum would have stopped this conflict.

Unfortunately the world isn't governed by agreements, it is governed by hard power. Agreements are just the toilet paper we wrap conflicts in to justify our actions to masses who don't want to (can't?) understand geopolitical conflicts.

Jeez they way some of yall talk makes me think yall thought we invaded Iraq to defend our freedoms lol

The Iraq war is the exact reason I am vehemently opposed to this pointless proxy war, and don’t believe shite that the MIC or the state department has to say about anything.

Eventually Ukraine will be a waste of money, but not during the war. It will be after the war when they want aid to rebuild. At that point fricking Germany (who has mostly sat on their hands with giving weapons) can either step up or deal with a humanitarian crises on their doorstep.

Surely you don’t believe we won’t also be on the hook for this?

No kidding Wednesday. Now here we go with his logic "uh you know its just old shat we were decommissioning". Okay then why have we spent 112 billion dollars. "Uh you dummy its to replace the ole shat we would have had to replace anyway". Okay then if we are replacing it wouldnt that be in the 844 billion dollar military budget? So why do we need 112billion over the original budget.....

As far as "cleaning out Russia's weapons" some of those are nuclear warheads so you wont have to worry about "pivoting" anywhere.

Nah, we aren't even close to Japan or Italy levels of GDP to Debt ratios and we can print the world's reserve currency (unlike them). We got plenty of money for this.

First of all that is the on paper value of the stuff we gave away. So it was paid for in a previous military budget. It’s not cash (some of the billions is cash to keep their government running to use these weapons but not most).

Second of all the replacements aren’t in the current budget because they haven’t been made yet. But suddenly we are talking about for example keeping our F22 fleet going longer which is possible because we don’t have rotting F16s on the books anymore.
