Board Speaking On Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel: “She basically said, we want this list so that we can have unwarranted home entry, without a warrant. Warrantless home entry into homeschool”
“But whole homeschooling thing is really quite disturbing. And one of the things that disturbs me about this is the disingenuousness of the discussion because we have people like the Senate Education Committee chair, Dayna Polehanki saying that when asked about increasing regulations beyond registration, she said not on my watch.
Well, we got Attorney General Dana Nessel that says that she wants to do it because the foster care system didn't do their job and apparently homeschool parents. Uh, there was some abuse going on at a homeschool home, um, or that actually sounds like the foster care system.
But, certainly, a mere registration, a list of people is not gonna have anything to do or will not help prevent, um, what attorney general Nestle is talking about. So she's already kinda said the quiet part out loud.
She basically said, we want this list so that we can have unwarranted home entry, uh, without a warrant. Warrantless home entry into homeschool into this particular targeted group.”

Unfortunately, I don’t see a peaceful ending to any of this.
We have an authoritarian class that has weaponized the law for their own means and benefit. And it appears they won’t be reasoned with.

Not saying I agree with any of that but what exactly does the MI Sec of Ed and AG have to do with the Federal Gov?

I would bet there is far more abuse in public schools than in homeschool environments. Between the violence, drug use and horny teachers, homeschooling is the least of their worries.
This boils down to to two things
1. Money. Public school systems dont get federal dollars for homeschooled kids.
2. They want to be able to teach things to kids they think that kids need to know.
The best way to keep people from homeschooling their kids would be for them to provide a safe place that taught kids reading, writing, history, math and science. All that other crap can be left out.

Uhh.. I don’t see how any government official has warrantless entry ability no matter what list they have. Hell… Child services doesn’t have that. They must have a court order at minimum to force their way in.

I have heard people refer to public education as the “free babysitter “, people that home school are the ones vested in their children's education. According to Roger Walters, we don’t need thought control, no dark sarcasm from the classroom
