I put 18yo+ to cover the basics of age restrictions on addictive things.

The appetite for it is increased by removing the stigmas. Clean drugs, huh?? Yeah that'll be the way it'll go when everything is legalized and found at every corner store.

I see you have teen grandkids, when the turn 18, are you going to support their "clean drugs" use if they decide that's the life they want to live? Think it will benifit their futures?

This is a long interview with a former US Ice agent but according to him everyone in Mexico is affiliated in some form or another with the cartels whether they want to be or not.

Right. Over half the population survives on Cartel or other black market enterprises.

Its massive and is a huge part of the Mexican economy.

Americans love drugs, always have.

You do realize they can easily get Fentanyl on the street for $3 a pill right now?

Mexico also wouldn’t allow outside involvement in investigations or prosecutions without authorization and collaboration of the Mexican government.

Fairly certain that just about every nation on earth feels this way.

That said, the Mexican government has shown time and again that it is, for one reason or another, completely incapable of addressing the cartel problem.

In the interview he tells a story about an older couple who started selling tacos out of their home. The tacos became so popular the couple was able to start a taco cart business and later opened a store front. When they opened the store front the cartel went to them and tried to get protection money from the couple. When the couple refused to pay the cartel, the couple were executed on the spot.

As a said everyone supports the cartel whether they want to or not.

People arent getting Fentanyl from the clinic.

When my wife had our first, the nurse who was setting up the epidural fentanyl left it out on the counter while she left the room to grab something.

Doctor came in and shite a brick.

the Mexican people really like Trump

President Claudia Sheinbaum’s defense of Mexico amid threats from Donald Trump helped propel her approval rating to 80% among respondents to the latest El Universal poll.

The top response was “defending the country from Donald Trump,” with 14% of those polled saying that was the president’s greatest achievement since she took office on Oct. 1.

Next step past this is to label Mexico as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Let’s see how that one works for El Presidente.

Back in the Day New Orleans residents loved Pirates. Due to tariffs and taxes, pirates performed a service to the people of S. La and provided goods and services they wouldnt otherwise be able to purchase.

So it is with the Cartels who provide a huge economic benefit to Mexicans. they may not like it, but they're bound to them because of the financial benefits.

Dude, it literally would not exist without private industry.

Now do meth and heroin.

Yes, it answered your question.

They could be doing it right now, as its plentiful and cheap and more dangerous than Heroin.

The market is already there. Youre just paying murderers and crooks for it instead of tax paying businessmen.

Iirc your grandkids have a good head on their shoulders with bright futures. So they don't because it's illegal, and there's a certain potential for instantly ruining their lives. They still have that stigma talking to them on their good angel sitting on their shoulder.

What I'm asking you is if it becomes legal, and no different than say alcohol, cigs, coffee, would you support their use of say "clean fentanyl or heroin"? "Hey grandpa, when at the the grocery, please get me some of that fet-cola. Thhhaannks". Obviously this full legalization stigma is a ways out, so your grandkids wont face it. But family's once it's settled in for 10yrs will do so.

You can add that quote all you want, but that goes back to my point about the constant widening of our foundational guardrails. Removing the stigmas, creates an increase.

I find it interesting how we bash the West Coast states for being awful, full of homeless, people leaving, etc. Yet they were ground zero for the legalization movement, and yet people see no issue importing that movement to their own backyards.

So she's equating Mexican sovereignty with protecting cartels?

Mexico is a narco state, I’m not sure she’s wrong.

Can the tumor be removed? Sure by the US, but not domestically IMO and sure as hell not by that snake of a president they have.

I wouldnt support their use of alcohol, much less Fentanyl.

But I would much rather then get clean stuff than black market Fentanyl, as would you and yours.

Wouldnt you?
