Meta AI wrongfully disables videographer’s Instagram for ‘sexualization of children’

AI has become kind of this arbitrator and judge of everything, everything from job applications to social media posts
Social media is more than funny photos and cat videos. These days, it can make or break your career and reputation. Jack Rastorfer nearly lost both.
“Everything I did was earned,” said Rastorfer, a 19-year-old sports videographer from Lenexa, Kansas.
He produces, shoots and edits high-energy videos of athletes and events for social media.
Instagram is one of the main ways he and others market their businesses. It’s become his portfolio – his proof of performance.
Then in an instant, 5 years of hard work of growing his audience was gone. Last month, Meta disabled his account, @jackman_vids, claiming his content violates the site’s “community standards on sexualization of children.”
“This is a very serious accusation,” Rastorfer said. “It’s so scary that it can happen to anybody, any business.”
Rastorfer tried to appeal, pointing out that his account had nothing to do with children whatsoever. But Meta denied his appeal and said his account was permanently disabled. Since then, Rastorfer said he was never able to get in touch with a real person for help.
“[It’s] ‘let me direct you to this AI person’ and then directs you to another AI,” Rastorfer said.
Several attempts later, he turned to FOX4 Problem Solvers hoping to save what’s become a huge part of his career.
FOX4 got in contact with a human at Meta , something Rastorfer and others have reported having a hard time accomplishing. A Meta representative said they disabled his account in error and fixed it. We asked what happened and why, but they didn’t respond to our follow-up questions.

How long will it be before AI will be judge and jury for us all?

AI “morality” is created in the image of the gayest of gay retard humans, so it wouldn’t be fun.
But, Sounds like meta fixed a mistake… Meta is also always fighting legal battles about child safety because people can’t do their jobs as parents, so better safe than sorry I guess

He probably already did but to be accused of child porn?

They only did when they were forced to by those who could do something about it... stepped in. Meta AI denied his appeal.

Article is crap. Didn't provide any examples of his work. I'm just supposed to believe him that there was no reason to disable the account?

Seems fishy.
Not exactly sure what his “job” is. Making videos? AI can do that in an instant.
Should have learned to code my bro.

Article gave you his account name @jackman_vids...not enough for you or did you just overlook it?

I see your point, but this one just isn’t really registering that much for me on AI fears. Lots of other way scarier things out there than an a-hole customer service bot
Also I just noticed his account name lol. Maybe @Jackman_vids with potentially suspect minor content could have played a part lol
Edit: ok, his content is harmless. I am sorry he had a shitty customer service experience, but he all good now

I.e., its creators.

I don't have or use Instagram, and it isn't my responsibility to do the job for "journalists."
Stop excusing bad reporting.

0.00 %, it just happened and you posted the proof of it.

Set in a near-future world, Pratt stars as Detective Christopher Raven, who is accused of murdering his wife.
The Premise: Raven is placed on trial before an advanced artificial intelligence judge (played by Ferguson).
The Stakes: He has only 90 minutes to prove his innocence and lower his calculated guilt score below an execution threshold, or he will be put to death on the spot.

It's freaking Instagram for crying out loud.
Live in the real world, not online.

It's also flock. Would you like to be the owner of a business and be accused and possibly arrested for child porn when there isn't any? Just having that accusation thrown at you could ruin your business permanently...as it almost did his. You see no problem with that since it's instagram?
AI is taking over many things.
quote:
The more immediate concern isn’t machines overtaking humanity but humans outsourcing too much control too soon. Algorithms already influence financial markets, information flows, and logistics networks. If we defer too many decisions to our systems, we could lose oversight by degrees.
Healthcare shows AI’s promise but doctors caution against over-reliance. Clinicians sometimes defer to algorithmic suggestions too readily — a phenomenon known as automation bias — allowing subtle errors to slip through unchecked.
The education sector faces similar tensions. AI tutoring tools personalize learning and help bridge language barriers, but they also risk overreliance and may hinder true comprehension. The challenge for schools isn’t in deciding whether to use AI, but in teaching students to use it critically — as an aid, rather than a crutch.
AI lowers the barrier for launching sophisticated cyberattacks. Generative models can now produce convincing phishing emails, write malicious code, and even mimic voices or writing styles with minimal human effort. Security analysts note that attackers no longer need deep technical expertise — access to the right AI model is often enough to orchestrate and launch an attack.

Hell no, was he arrested for child porn?

I don't see it as a business so much because he's just making content to post on someone else's platform.
First, he doesn't have much invested compared to a REAL business.
Second, he should have no expectation of continuity of service on someone else's platform.
On top of all that, it's those NAZI censors META.
If you're livelyhood depends on META, I'm not going to riot for you when it's lost.

He's 19 and just getting started but if you read the article you can see that he's becoming popular for his work very quickly.

He had a branch of a national TV network go to bat for him. Intercede on his behalf.
Idunno. Call them and see if they vetted him before they did?

Youtubers have a similar problem. AI scans their vids and sees whether there's anything that flags it's algorithms on upload.
Flag on the upload just means finding the flag, editing it out, and trying again.
But if somebody reports the vid, it takes going through layers of computer customer service to get to a human. Usually all via email.
This dude did right. And we are kinda lucky here in KC that FOX is willing to go out and try to help folks like this.

Has absolutely nothing to do with that. Building up a following on socials as a Creative is hard work. Having insta falsely accuse him of child porn, and not give a damn about destroying his rep and the progress he worked hard on is wrong.

Meanwhile i report actual instances at least twice a year and nothing is ever done about them.
