I've been watching the daily Minnesota briefing on protests. It's basically over now, but there at the very end the media asked the guy at the podium about how the media had checked Minnesota leadership claims about where these protesters were coming from and found them to be false. Minnesota leadership was claiming that protesters in Minneapolis were coming from out of state, but when they checked the jail reports it turned out they were mostly from Minnesota.

Anyways, he totally deflected the answer and basically said they said what they said because they "couldn't believe Minneapolans were burning down their own buildings." So he admitted the state leadership was lying.

This thread exists simply to give an update on the conflicting reports from earlier. Presser is over now, so no link.

They also said it was white supremacists. Basically they were willing to lie so the big headlines in an attempt to slander their political opponents truth be damned.

Sorry, I probably could have worded that a little better. I wrote the thread in a rush because I was listening to the tail end of it live and also checking on a couple other things.
