McCabe is suing the DOJ/FBI over his termination

The complaint says the Justice Department has publicly defended the firing yet failed to identify for McCabe the policies and procedures it followed before dismissing him. The department has withheld the information, McCabe’s lawyers allege, for fear that the materials could be used against them in any additional lawsuits.
“We don’t create or adjudicate under secret law or procedure,” David Snyder, one of McCabe’s lawyers, said in an email to The Associated Press.

It's an effort to impact public opinion and make him look like the unjust target of an angry DOJ (lol irony). "They only arrested me because I was suing."

Yes he should be shown some of the proof... but I say to make it public at the same time so his lawyer can’t play games with strategic releases.

Yep, when you are referred for criminal prosecution at the FBI, and then question your firing, your lawyer looking to get paid!
