Rather flaccid whattabouism attempt by Matt.

The vast majority of American slaves were born into slavery, not brought from Africa. Only about 388,000 enslaved Africans were directly shipped to North America over the entire history of the transatlantic trade. The vast majority of the 10 million people that were enslaved in the United States over time were born into it.

i liked the part after the British surrendered where washington ordered the continental army to enter new york and round up the renegade slaves and send them back to their owners.

i know in 2025 merica n' such i'm supposed to be outraged, but since i don't give a schit since it was 250 years ago, i'm like dayum that's my president!

If you were enslaved, America was a far better place to go than the sugar islands or Brazil. You lived much longer.

Burns also didn’t mention the British Governor Hamilton buying scalps and being captured by George Rogers Clark. All they did was trash Clark for hating Indians. Gee, wonder why Clark hated them?

Also they got Cowpens wrong. Morgan’s master stroke was the double envelopment like Hannibal at Cannae. And at Guilford Courthouse, Cornwallis fired cannon into his own men as well as ours to break up the battle.

I was more than a little pissed they spent so much time on loyalists, and ignored the siege of boonesborough, and in general the western war. frick the loyalists. Damn Tories.

Can’t show the noble red man being cruel and vicious. That is only reserved for whites.

Absolutely. Of course slavery is evil. And thank God the West outlawed it, Having said that, any descendant of slaves living in America today should thank their lucky stars because they won the ancestry lottery. Had their ancestors not been enslaved in America, they would have been born in Senegal, Gambia, or some other African hellhole.,

And did they just sprout out of the ground one day or are they descended from those 388,000 Africans who were initially brought over here?

They were enslaved from birth by the Americans who owned their parents. 10 million of them.

And where did their parents come from? Did they sprout out of the ground in the Thirteen Colonies or were they brought over from Africa?

What did I write that was wrong? The fact that 10 million humans were enslaved from birth in the United States has been well documented.

Ken Burns is a woke pos.

He did the same with his Civil War series. He pounded and over emphasized slavery as being the only cause of that war.

And that is why I don't give that arse clown a second of my time! He is always biased!

The point was it's not like she was enlisted and spent years in service...and yet she still got the same as those who had. And Burns presented it as if she were slighted.
