He probably doesn’t care either way about any of the several overblown anti-trans concerns. He’s a pretty vanilla celebrity who never looks to rock the boat, and I’m guessing that his appearance on Candace's show was a move he made as an attempt to endear himself to an audience that feels disregarded by Hollywood. Of course, he should have known what he was in for because Candace did what Candace does, and for a few hours the more needy conservatives thought he was “one of us,” which isn’t what Lopez is in the business for.
The wording of his apology is very deliberate and standard for stuff like this. It’s the apology of a person who, more than anything, isn’t interested in being connected in any way with any trans issues.
