Rubio is horrible. He is a slightly better version of Mike Pence. He's an establishment mole who as chairman of the SSCI was working as hard as anyone in DC to bring down the first Trump administration. A Russia Russia Russia truther.

Besides that he's a terrible candidate because he has no core beliefs besides what he's told to do.

Vance will beat him like a drum.

I think I disagree 100% with every point made here. Especially the last one. How is Vance a better candidate. He was the junior senator from OH and vocally anti Trump the longest. What has he done to prove he is the torch bearer?

Rubio is a neo-con who was best known for stabbing the tea party in the back prior to jumping on Trump's jock. Running him would be likely as effective as Mitt Romney candidacy. Vance? I don't have a strong feeling on him. He's been muzzled, it seems, so short of distancing himself from this war, I don't see the road to him distinguishing himself.

The only chance at victory post-Trump is someone who can convince independents to trust the GOP and right now that's going to be a very tough sell. Rubio isn't it. The GOP die hards may rally around him and he may fundraise well, but he wouldn't turn out the vote.

Oh, we agree there. His "most natural state" is exploiting political angles and that's exactly what he's doing.

I think he sees that his best chance of being elected is by carrying on the MAGA agenda.

I think half of the Republicans in Congress have discovered that reaching out and compromising with Dems is not the best way to move up. Mitt Romney did that and never could admit that he was wrong.

John Thune clearly needs to learn this. It appears that Marco Rubio did. Lindsey Graham is a perfect example of someone who is still a snake in the grass, because he wants to be MAGA and deep state at the same time.

I think a Rubio-Kemp ticket wins the 2028 election. I think it secures FL-GA easier than any ticket. OH is a GOP state. I think Rubio helps the Hispanic vote in AZ and NV. You can get to 269 EVs with just this if you win ME-2 and sweep NE. The states PA, MI, and WI could be lost in this scenario.

In 2032, after the next census, this ticket is even better because they would start with 10 more electoral votes as the redistribution of votes moves away CA and the midwestern states into the Sunbelt.

Again, it depends on turnout. The left will turnout their voters. The right's die hard block is shrinking. After this war, it will be very interesting to see how many of the independents that gave Trump his two official victories show up... and for who.

If people actually researched candidates and not just sound bites I think Desantis would still beat Vance and Rubio.

You really think the Georgia Governor will be on the ticket in 2028?

Not a chance in Hell.

I don't think he will be, I just said I thought that was the best ticket to win the election. Kemp gets a lot of hate on this board, but he won his election in GA by double figures...meanwhile, Trump won GA twice by about 2% each time and lost once. The GOP keeps losing Senate races in GA, but Kemp keeps trucking along. The guy wins. You can call him whatever you want, but he outperformed every other GA GOP candidate for the past decade.
