Think your number should be 75-80k household, phased out after with requirement for tax liability. If you don't have a tax liability, you almost certainly are receiving other benefits.

How much do you make per week if you work 8 hours a day and make $15/hr?

Gross earnings of $31,200/year assuming you have PTO built in or take no time off if you don’t have PTO. So basically the minimum wage the Dems want to set puts a dual income family over the limit. Brilliant right?

manchin is dealing with reality.

Manchin is going to keep low end workers home by continuing to give them money, while penalizing workers who have improved their earning potential since high school. He is an old school Democrat. He will vote for a measure that keeps people out the workforce and on the government tit, while refusing to help the people who are trying to help themselves

The minimum should be 60K The cap should be atleast 150K. With wages so high now having both parents working would put mosh couples over that amount .

I think this was manchin’s idea. Would make it available to single parents and the extremely poor. So saving a little bit of our tax dollars while Biden wants to blow it all.

Do you have a large number of robots ready to replace all of the workers that will quit their jobs on Day One? If you think we have supply chain/logistics problems now then just wait.

The supply chain would crumble and inflation would be fast, everyone who quit would be hurting themselves in the long run, but many would still quit. $120,000 would b the poverty line within a couple of years. The only advantage of a move like this is inflating personal debt away for the people smart enough to take advantage.

Im confused about this. The IRS site says you can receive child tax credit even if you dont pay taxes.

Who exactly can qualify? As an example, the "earned" income tax credit actually allows you to recoup your tax AND the taxes your employer puts in. And the IRS has this program listed with the child tax credit on their website.

Take all that foreign aid that we give countries that hate our guts. Cut taxes dramatically and keep the credits.

THAT'S reality, libbo.
