NEW: Sen. Manchin has told the White House the child tax credit must include a firm work requirement and family income cap in the $60k range, Axios has learned.

These demands would dramatically weaken one of Biden's signature programs.

God bless Joe Manchin

Cool.

Stupid. It should require someone to actually have a tax burden in order to receive the credit.

It's not a tax credit when people that pay no taxes are getting it.

The minimum should be 60K The cap should be atleast 150K. With wages so high now having both parents working would put mosh couples over that amount .

So two working parents making 35k each don’t qualify.

Someone explain to me again how he’s not trying to absolutely crush the middle class

If you and your spouse both make over $15 an hour, you probably do not qualify.

Gonna be fricking awkward when they raise minimum wage to $20/hr

How much do you make per week if you work 8 hours a day and make $15/hr?

Should be expanded to combined income of 150k and gradually phased out after between 150 and 200

Biden and Schumer will tell Manchin no and Manchin will click his heels and vote for Biden’s tax and spend bill.

In response, Biden drooled and exclaimed that his butt needed wiping.

I think anyone who has a kid under 18 should qualify regardless of income.
