Manafort's sin
Posted on 2/22/19 at 11:19 pm

I guess Ive been overthinking this. It appears as if his sin was leveraging his current status in DC to set himself up with something nice on the back end when his duties in DC come to an end. Is this not what nearly every politician and poli-operative in DC are there for? Hell I figured that was just openly accepted as the norm. Unless you are associated with Trump of course, who ironically is maybe the only one who isnt worried about setting himself up for a windfall post-office.
**What's up with all the downvotes? My OP stands for the proposition that out of the ocean of like-minded schemesters in DC Manafort was unfairly singled out due to Trump ties. Maybe that's an unpopular semtiment.

No doubt abt it. It sure aint gonna make me mad if Trump pardons him.

Manafort was a swamp creature for decades, working for both sides.
The crimes he was charged with occurred while he was working with Podesta Group, yes that Podesta.
The only reason he was prosecuted was to try and get something on Trump.
And they still came up with nothing but their dick in their hands.
(I have no sympathy for him, but also don't think his conviction means jack shite in the scheme of things)

Yeah I should clarify here, I dont approve of his schemes BUT they somewhat make a victim of him when they so obviously fail to apply the law equally. Agreed as to their purpose re: Trump.

That it is. And the sad part is we hold the U.S. up as a "country of laws" where these exact things going on now just dont happen. Where the law is applied equally irrespective of race, creed, color or gender etc. We crow abt it and use the concept to win hearts and minds of so many skeptics around the world. They're now justified in being skeptical.

Unfortunately the rampant corruption and lack of equal justice under the law has many our own citizens skeptical and disgusted. We are a "nation of laws", that's for sure. Around 500,000 them. 4,500 of those being felonies. Think about that... that's 4,500 ways to lose your GOD given rights, freedom, and liberty. Land of the free, my arse. Selective freedom for the connected, elite, and those with $$$.
America no longer adheres to One Nation, Under GOD. With Liberty and JUSTICE FOR ALL. Hasn't for quite awhile now.
America's ticking time bomb.

Unequal application of justice will be the thing that brings America down.
And the entrance of "hate crimes' into the equation will speed up that process 1000 times.
Once you can manufacture a crime based on some definition by a political entity, then it can be manipulated to completely shut down any opposition.
And once a particular law can be applied to one person associate with a political agenda and ignored when some other person associated with an apposing politics agenda becomes common, we are doomed.
And this is what is happening exponentially right now - conservatives are subject to a requirement of living a "perfect" life, while 'progressives' and wallow around in lawlessness with impunity as long as subjectively definitional 'crimes' are involved.
We see that now with what is meant by 'obstruction of justice' and 'lying to the FBI' and 'intent' and 'prosecutorial discretion.'
Addition of 'hate crime' to that mix gives one side a 'trump' card that can be played at their leisure.

Nobody would have ever looked into any of his dealings if he hadn't because his dealings are exactly the same as a few thousand other people's across the political spectrum during the time frame of his career.

Good synopsis Pops...
Rather bleak outlook for Conservatives unless something drastically changes soon. Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out why white males account for 77.97% of suicides in 2017 ( AFSP.org). Especially in the 45 - 54 age range, and rural areas. It will be difficult for Conservatives to win elections when the base is killing themselves in record numbers.
America is doomed, regardless of President Trump's efforts to save it.

Except good paying jobs with benefits are coming back. Over the next few weeks I'll be doing about 200 new hire physicals for a defense contractor, we've done about the same number for local chemical plants, countless numbers for local construction companies. They can't hire people fast enough. Wages are going up. Benefits are being added/improved. These guys can now look forward to a better life for them and their families. And South Arkansas isn't exactly an economic juggernaut, but if you'll show up to work every day and pass a piss test $20/hour is waiting for starting jobs with no skills or experience. Many of these companies will then pay you to get extra education/skills they need once you prove you're a decent investment and on up you'll go.

This ain't about jobs Brother... The base has jobs, good paying jobs. Always has.
It's about unequal justice under the law. It's about 24/7/365 psychological warfare against white males at every corner... TV programs, TV commercials, taxes, "hate crimes", statues, parental rights, censorship, abuses at the VA, etc. I can certainly see why those suicide numbers are what they are.
Atlas is tired... tired of shrugging and getting shite upon for their hard work, goodwill, and love of Country.
ETA: There's a breaking point we've hit, and the Left knows it and is stepping on the gas as of late.

Manafort is a flat out criminal and friend Vlad which is why Trump hired him. SDNY will guarantee that he spends prison time regardless of Trump’s pardon.

So every politician that knows Vlad has a check mark against them? How long is that list?
You know, when I get re-elected I'll be able to help you more. I can't remember who told the muh Russians that, do you?
